语言的学习主要是一个实践的过程。对于英语学习者来说，阅读英文报刊能 学习最新的英语、了解变化的世界。通过阅读英文报刊，人们不仅能扩大词汇 量，增强语感，领会词汇的内涵，而且它是学习和掌握现代英语的最重要、最简 洁、最有效的途径之一。同时，人们还能通过阅读英语报刊了解英美社会和世界 的现状，了解当今世界在政治、经济、军事、科学、文化以及社会生活的各个方 面的新事物和新动态。 报刊英语具有自己鲜明的特点，它在用词造句、文章类型、文章结构、写作 特点、词汇和语法等方面都有别于普通英语。在英语新闻报刊中，新闻记者们经 常使用一些习语、俚语、典故和新造词，这些最新用语使得学习者们迷惑不解， 不得要领。如果学习者们没有基本的新闻常识，也没有掌握一定的新闻英语的基 本文体特征，就很难完全理解报刊英语。因此，本文希望通过对新闻英语文体特 点的研究让英语学习者们对报刊英语有一个系统的了解，这样有助于他们有针 对性的进行更加有效的学习和训练，从而进一步提高语言水平。本文共分为五 章。第一章主要介绍了有关新闻英语的背景、国内外专家、学者的研究现状及本 文的研究方法。第二章是理论背景。介绍了文体学的定义、文体学的研究对象、 文体学的分析方法和文体学研究的发展过程及现状。第三章讨论了一些新闻的理
