山东师范大学硕士学位论文 摘要 本文以福勒等人提出的批评语篇分析为理论框架，以韩礼德提出的系统功能 语法为理论基础，结合新闻语篇的特点和新闻事件发生的社会背景，对美国主流 报纸华盛顿邮报和纽约时报上有关中国的经济报道进行分析，旨在揭示经济新闻 背后隐藏的意识形态和权力，从而显示语言与意识形态之间相互影响的关系。 1 9 7 9 年福勒等人的著作语言和控制的出版标志着批评语篇分析的开始。 批评性语篇分析成为语言学家以及社会学家讨论的热点话题。语言不仅仅是人们 用来交流的一种工具，如同”社会人”一样，语言同样要在社会这一大的环境中才 能得到更好的分析，人们之间的交流才会更加顺畅，减少误解。借助于对构成语 篇的语言的分析，语言学家发现很多看似公正客观的语言背后也有某种政治倾 向，意识形态甚至社会不平等的暗示。如今随着社会的发展，人们了解世界的途 径也越来越多。听新闻广播，看新闻报纸，网上浏览新闻信息已经成为人们生活 必不可少的一部分。然而，听众读者中只有极少数的注意到了在这些宣称自己公 正客观反映社会现实的报道背后，更多的新闻报道者，政府的声音和态度。这些 声音和态度在影响着大众的意识。新闻语篇作为大众公共语篇是一个社会文化的 反映。众多的新闻报道，尤其是经济报道宣称力求公正、公平的对客观事实进行 报道。但是其实不然。报道者的态度和权力倾向往往会在报道中隐含，而大众如 果不仔细分析就意识不到报道在影响我们的意识倾向。也就是读者的批评阅读意 识必须增强。 批评性阅读 是由唐丽萍在著作批评性跨文化阅读的主体间评 价研究中提出的，主要意思是阅读并非单纯的去读文章弄懂文章大意，重要的 是从组成这篇文章的元素一语言去把握作者的写作意图态度甚至所隐含的权力 态度，只有读懂了组成文章语篇的语言背后的意思才是真正的阅读，真正的达到 了批评性阅读的意图。 批评语言分析其实是一门多学科的语篇分析，站在”批评”的立场角度去揭示 语篇背后隐藏的社会不平等。系统功能语法和批评语篇分析有着很多共性，他们 都强调语言不能孤立的去分析，语言只有在社会中才能更好的发挥它的功能和作 用。系统功能语法强调语言的三大元功能或者纯理功能，即概念功能、人际功能 政治新闻报道或者电视政治讲话稿，揭示其背后的意识形态，得出结论：政治语 篇是隐含一定的政治倾向和权力的。当然大众语篇不仅仅包含政治语篇，还有经 济、娱乐等各类语篇类型。为了给批评性语篇分析提供更多更广泛而又有别于以 往研究的语料，本文的重点在于分析美国主流报纸对中国经济这一话题的报道从 而揭示美国对中国经济发展的态度和政治倾向，揭示报道背后的权力关系和政治
