摘要 释义在词典编纂中占有极其重要的地位，或者可以说，词典的最主要任务就 是提供释义。词典的释义方式随词典性质，词条覆盖范围和目标读者群的不同而 相应不同。毋庸置疑，不同的释义方式会对词典的释义效果进而对词典使用者 产生影响。因此，研究如何选择恰当的释义方式以及不同的释义方式会对词典 使用者顺利习得目的语产生怎样的影响，对词典编纂理论来说就显得不可或缺 了。 作为定性分析的本论文试图分析当前流行的面向中高级读者的学习词典的释 义方式。参考的词典包括英语学习词典和汉语学习词典。为简洁和直观起见，本 论文将当前的词典释义方式分为短语释义和自然语句释义两种。前者可以进一步 分为同义词释义，功能释义，指物释义等，而后者可进一步分为单句释义和复句 释义。 短语释义的突出优点在于简洁和可替换性等，而其缺陷在于用户友好性不足 和上下文信息不足等。而就句子释义来看，其相对于短语释义的优点在于丰富 的语境信息，以及口语化的释义表述便于理解等，而其缺点在于释文容易流于冗 长，搭配限制过严等。因此在分析了上述两种释义方式优，缺点的基础上，本论 文作者认为应该视释义对象的不同，可在同一部词典中交替使用上述两种释义方 式。在论文的末尾，论文作者提出在释义方式的优化上可以考虑计算机的使用和 应用认知语言学的相关理论。
