摘要 幽默是人类交际过程中能引人发笑的话语，动作和表情等等，其内容丰富， 形式多样。但是人们的交际活动大多是在话语中进行的，所以幽默多产生于话语 中。幽默的产生方面离不开语言本身的内在规律，因为语言是幽默最直接和最 普遍的表现。另一方面，在很大程度上还取决于幽默语言在语境中的使用情况。 而语用学的任务就是把特定的话语置于特定的语境中探索在不同交际环境下如何 运用语言的规律。虽然幽默的形式多种多样，但笑话被认为是幽默语言的原型， 因而在本文中用于幽默分析的语料。 我国语言学界对英语幽默的研究起步于2 0 世纪8 0 年代。学者们分别从“合 作原则”、歧义和修辞等不同角度进行了研究，成果散见于学术刊物当中。但这 些研究尚处于初级阶段，特别是在语用学领域表现的尤为突出。鉴于当前对英语 幽默语言特征的描述及幽默产生中的语用因素的研究相对欠缺，本文将从这两个 方面着手分析。笔者从英语幽默文集、文学作品、语言学论著和其他杂志中收集 了大量的笑话语料，并运用语用学的基本理论对其进行分析。通过归纳、整理和 分析本文将探求语用规律与英语幽默的关系，希望对英语幽默语言的研究和实际 交际有所启示。 关键词：幽默语言特点语用学语用分析幽默语境 x a b s t r a c t h u m o ri st h ed i s c o u r s e ，a c t i
