早就已经指出隐喻通常被用来传递重复的信息，尤其是那些很难或不能直接表达 的信息，他还认为人们在不断的获得经验，而话语本身是无关联的。o r t o n y 的这个 论点暗示了在经验所形成的概念与用来描述此概念的言语之唰存在一个间隙，而 隐喻便试图用扩展词义的方式来填补这个间隙。近年来隐喻，特别是隐喻的认知 已经成为研究的热点。作为认知的一种，它对人们的思考方式，艺术创造和语言 的使用都有深远的影响。进一步探讨隐喻的本质和功能在某种程度上有利于当前 的认知理论。然而隐喻是一个范围很广的学科，所以不可能一次性地将其全面地 阐释。腮以本篇论文只详细讨论一种隐喻，即空间隐喻来说明语言与认知之间的 联系，。本篇论文分为九个章节，从不同的角度来分析空间隐喻的理论与实践。 第一章是对隐喻的概述。壬何一种事物的分类都不是一成不变的，分类的标 准不同会导致分类的结果不同。那么既然说空间隐喻是隐喻的一种，那究竟是根 据什么标准来分呢矽本堂先介绍了隐喻学的先祖亚罩士多德对隐喻的分类，他主 要是从词义这个微观角度来分，然后引出了2 0 世纪的隐喻学大师l a k o f f 从宏观 的角度对隐喻的分娄，( 即将隐喻分为结构( 概念) 隐喻，本体隐喻和空间隐喻。 本文研究的空间隐喻便是l a k o f ! f 分类法当中产生。但几种隐喻并不是绝对独立 存在的，本文通过事实讨论了几种隐喻之间的区别和联系并提出了结构空间隐喻 的说法。既然本篇论文研究的主题是空间隐喻的认知，那关于什么是隐喻的认知 在第一章中也有所讨论j 。 第= 章讨论了为什么人类会有空间隐喻这种表达方式，这和人类的本身构造 或客观世界有没有联系，也就是详细阐释了空间隐喻的起源。阮从隐喻学当中的 身体隐喻说起，所谓身体隐喻就是与人类的身体构造有关的隐喻。身体隐喻是人 类成为一个有界实体的根基，身体的构造便成为了空间的参考，如“里外” 的两个方位词本来是以人的皮肤为界，皮肤下称之为“里面”，皮肤外则称之为 “外面”。后来这个概念后来扩展到地域的边界，边界内也称为“里面”，边界外 也称为“外面”。本章讲述的第二个问题是身体和空问的具体联系，为什么它们 会有这样紧密的联系以及它们之间联系的途径和身体意象等0 第三章论述了空间隐喻的物理基础，并把空间词汇分为静态和动态两类，以 “i n 一和“a b o u t ”为例讲解了静态词汇的理解和使用领域然后讨论了在何种情 况下运用动态词汇，举出了许多常用的动态词汇加以分析，比较了这些词语原始 、 含义和引申含义之间的区另肛 第四章是根据大量的实例总结而出的空间隐喻的五大特点。越是为迸一步探 讨空问隐喻的认知奠定基础。大多数的空间隐喻都是有规律可循的。在以大量实 例为基础的前提下，对这些实例做了系统的全面的总结，并利用形象的图表充分 说明了空间隐喻的五个显著特点。其特点有：不任意性，创造性，系统性，多维 性和社会性0 第五章是空间隐喻的一个重要方面，即空间隐喻的意象图式，这是插述空间 隐喻的一种重要的认知方法。体章先介绍了意象图式的概念，提出的依据以及其 特点，然后阐述了其中几种重要的也是使用较为广泛的意象图式一一容器图式 ( 罩外图式) ，部分一整体图式，中心一边缘图式，起源一路径一目标图式。在 这些图式当中，起源一路径一目标图式是运用的最为普遍的。本章将此图式扩展 开来，介绍了“t r ”和“l m ”两个重要的概念以及两个概念同时存在的不同方 式，然后论述了空间词汇在空间隐喻中的重要性及对这些词汇的微观分类，以三 个使用频率较高的空间词汇“o v e r ”“u p ”“i n ”为例，对精心挑选的许多具有 代表性的例句分别进行详细地解剖分析来探讨每个句子的起源路径一目标图 式的构成，深层揭示了其空间词汇喻义的由来，并对比其原来的空间认知和引申 出的隐喻认知意义的区别与联系j 箍六章分别论述了空间隐喻所指代的几种抽象概念，例如时间，范围，状态， 社会地位和数量，尤其是对“时间”作了全方面的解析。住对“时间”的论述中
