摘要 汉语古诗是中国文化的瑰宝，具有独特的语言形式。唐诗又是古诗中的代表，具 有古诗中几种主要形式，即律诗、绝句和古体诗。汉语古诗的英译成为近年来的研究 论题之一，也有多种不同的翻译版本问世。但对汉语古诗英译的研究大多从美学或文 学角度出发( 黄国文，2 0 0 6 ) ，如许渊冲、顾正阳等。本文试图从语言学分支之 语用学的角度对汉语古诗的英译做出分析与讨论。鉴于指示语( d e i x i s ) 在英语译诗中 的大量使用和其所起的作用，本文选择指示语作为研究对象。 本研究以语用学中的指示语理论为理论基础。语用学( p r a g m a t i e s ) 源于十九世纪 三十年代，自七十年代起作为一门独立学科迅速发展。指示语是语用学最早的也是最 基本的研究对象之一。根据f i l l m o r e ( 1 9 7 1 ) 和l e v i n s o n ( 1 9 8 3 ) 的研究，指示语共分五 种：人称指示、地点指示、时间指示、话语指示和社会指示。前三种指示语比后两种 更具典型性( 索振羽，2 0 0 0 ) ，并且在英语翻译中大量使用。本文分别对这五种指示语 在英语译诗和汉语古诗中的不同使用进行对比分析。所选语料主要依据许渊冲( 2 0 0 6 ) 译本的唐诗三百首。通过分析，本文提出三种指示语在汉、英语中使用的模式：对等 模式、非对等模式、英语中使用指示语而汉语无指示语的模式。然后通过对唐诗中的 代表作春江花月夜英译本的分析进一步阐释指示语的使用模式。 针对指示语在英、汉语中使用的不同，本文从四个方面探讨其原因：指示语对衔 接与连贯的作用；英、汉语中指示信息的不同表达；英语和汉语的语言差异；以及社 会和文化的因素。通过这四个方面讨论指示语在英、汉语中不同使用的原因。 本文共分五章。 第一章介绍了选题的原因。 第二章为文献综述，包括以往对指示语及翻译的研究。 第三章对汉语古诗英译中的指示语进行分析，提出三种指示语的使用模式，并对 春江花月夜进行样本分析。 第四章从四个方面讨论了指示语在英、汉语中使用不同的原因。 第五章为结论。本章得出全文的结论并提出本文存在的局限以供以后研究。 本文从语言学的角度通过对指示语的使用对汉语古诗的英译做出探讨，仅是应用 语言学理论对古诗英译进行研究的一次尝试。 关键词：指示语；语用分析；汉语古诗；英译 a b s t r a c t c h i n e s ec l a s s i c a lp o e m sa r eag r e a tt r e a s u r eo fc h i n e s ec u l t u r e ，p o s s e s s i n gas p e c i n l ， l i n g u i s t i cf o r m t a n gp o e m s a r et h er e p r e s e n t a t i v eo fc h i n e s ec l a s s i c a lp o e m s ，w h i c ht a k e t h em a i nf o r m so fc l a s s i c a lp o e m s ：l u s h i ，q u a t r a i n ，a n c i e n t -
