中文摘要 本文主要阐述的是词项空缺与认知的关系及其主要的填补手段，旨在从认知 语义学角度解释词项空缺产生的深层原因并找到有效的填补方法。在国外，认知 语言学的发展已经有数十年历史了，自9 0 年代起，我国的语言学者也开始关注认 知语言学的发展动态，并开始从认知语言学角度重新审视常见的语言现象。而词 项空缺是跨文化交际和翻译中常见的语言现象，因此，从认知角度有效地发现并 了解词项空缺，找到行之有效填补方法是十分必要的。 在以往对词项空缺的研究中，许多语言学者认为语言与文化差异是导致词项 空缺现象出现的首要原因，但笔者认为这是缺乏理论依据的。本文的研究方法是 用认知语义学思路深入分析词项空缺的形成原因，本文应用的理论是c r u s e 的 “词项组合”( l e x i c a lc o n f i g u r a ti o n ) 、f a u c o n n i e r 的“心理空间原理”( m e n t a l s p a c et h e o r y ) ( 1 9 8 5 ) 、及其后续发展“概念整合理论”( c o n c e p t u a lb l e n d i n g t h e o r y ) ( 1 9 9 7 ) 。本文的研究目的在于揭示词项空缺在认知方面的原因，即意识 在完成从现实空间到心理空间的映射时，或是由输入空间向类属空间和合成空间 映射时发生了偏移，导致映射失败而无法在人脑中形成相应词汇。此外，三类认知 理据在研究词项空缺产生原因方面有很强的实用价值。 文章最后一部分提出了四种主要的填补手段，包括语素填补、上下义填补、 隐喻填补和认知近义词填补。这几种填补手段可以有效减少歧义的产生，使交流 更加顺畅。
