摘要 摘要 网络广告近几年发展迅猛，发展速度比传统广告增长更快，据艾瑞咨询报道， 中国网络广告2 0 0 7 年占国内广告市场份额比2 0 0 6 年提高了7 5 3 ，达到1 0 6 亿 元，2 0 0 8 年预计其份额将达到1 7 2 2 亿元；而美国网络广告在全球市场份额所占 比例最高，现今仍以多样化形式迅速发展，据估计2 0 0 8 年美国网络广告市场份 额将达到2 3 8 亿美元。广告被称为反射一个国家文化的镜子，现在越来越多的国 际企业向多国展示产品广告，它己成为一大重要的跨文化交流方式。广告产业发 展飞速，但文化差异为国际广告的传播带来诸多问题，因而造成其广告给企业与 品牌带来负面效果，例如2 0 0 3 年发生的日本丰田“狮子敬礼篇”事件，2 0 0 4 年 立邦漆“盘龙滑落篇”事件，2 0 0 4 年的a b e r c r o m b i e & f i t c h 歧视事件，2 0 0 6 年 的阿迪达斯丑化中国形象事件等都遭到中国人不同程度的反感情绪，这都是因为 不了解中国文化差异因素所致。网络广告由于本身载体传播的信息性、互动性、 有效性与全球性，其传播将会比普通广告涉及更多跨文化问题，由此本文作者意 识到当今对网络广告进行跨文化研究分析十分重要。 很多学者曾对不同国家的传统广告进行跨文化研究，但是对于网络广告领域 的研究涉及较少。研究者们在对传统广告进行不同国家文化特点研究来对比文化 差异时，经常采用p o l l a y 的广告诉求理论与跨文化理论作为研究基石，由此研究 得出的结果被证明有效且可用性强。对于网络广告在此方面的研究，本篇作者将 继续前人的研究方法与应用理论，即采用p o l l a y 的广告诉求与h o f s t e d e 的5 个 文化层面配比理论进行研究，对比网络广告所折射出的中美文化差异。 本文主要分4 个部分：第一部分主要介绍研究必要性、研究目的及意义、论 文整体研究结构简述；第二部分分别对网络广告与跨文化进行论述，并对此方面 前人研究现状与本文研究理论进行阐述：第三部分为本文主要研究内容。通过实 际选取中美品牌食品与i t 类网络广告样本进行内容分析研究，其中包括假设、 选取样本、定量与定性分析、研究结果与深入阐述解析；第四部分主要是根据研 究结果，针对跨文化国际广告传播提出建议。 作者所研究的领域为2 0 0 7 年下半年4 0 0 个食品类与i t 类知名品牌网络广告， 根据w w w b r a n d i c x o t o m 网站上的品牌排名列表选取相应品牌，并从各品牌主页 选取广告。广告选择此两大行业原因在于其在两国所占比例位居前列，且具有典 t h e s i s0 fm a s t f rd f g r e e 型性文化代表意义。通过运用内容分析法，把定量与定性研究相结合来对两国当 今文化分行业对比研究。结果发现中美文化层面差异较大的有3 个文化层面：高 不确定性、男性主义和长期导向，所以总体来说，中美品牌食品和i t 类网络广 告文化确实存在较大差异。作者认为主要原因在于中国重视传统文化并持较为保 守态度，并在网络广告中多为主观性意义表达；美国具有功利主义的特点，在网 络广告中多为客观性意义表达。结果还发现，与2 0 0 3 年h o f s t e d e 的中美文化研 究相比，双方文化差异有所改变，其中5 文化层面当中3 个层面有所微变，包括 中国美国个人主义文化层面差异减小，美国在不确定性与男性主义差异上趋向更 为偏重，另外2 个层面即权利距离与长期导向没有明显变化。作者认为其文化特 点的变化与网络本身特点及两国现今快速发展有关。但作者还表明此研究结果只 适用于网络广告特定行业。 此研究具有三大特点：首先，它对于跨文化特定领域即中美知名品牌网络广 告的食品饮料与i t 行业进行研究，具有一定专注性、针对性。其次，研究仍然 基于前人研究理论框架，但把h o f s t e d e 的原先4 个文化层面扩展到他最新研究的 5 个文化层面来进行研究，所以具有拓展性。第三，研究结果与实际应用相结合， 作者对网络广告未来的跨文化传播提出有建设性、创新性建议。 关键词：跨文化；网络广告；文化层面；诉求 a b s t r a c t a b s t r a c t s i n c er e c e n ty e a r s ，o n l i n ea d sh a v eb e e nd e v e l o p i n gv e r yf a s t i ti sr e p o r t e dt h a t t h em a r k e ts h a r eo fc h i n e s eo n l i n ea d sr e a c h e d10 6b i l l i o nr m bi n2 0 0 7 ，w i t ha n i n c r e a s eo f7 5 3 ，c o m p a r e d 、析mt h a to fl a s ty e a r i n2 0 0 8 ，t h ef i g u r ei se x p e c t e db y i -
