摘要隐喻作为一种日常生活中的普遍现象，从古至今被人们大量的研究。从三百多年前的亚里斯多德开始，许多不同领域的专家学者从各种不同的角度进行了大量的研究，并取得了一系列的成果。然而只有到1 9 8 0 年莱考夫和约翰逊的我f f 赖以生存的隐喻问世，人们才开始渐渐明白，隐喻不仅是作为修辞手段的一种语言现象，更是一种认知现象，也是促进人类思维发展的因素之一。从此，人们将隐喻看作是目标域到目的域的一种映射，也就是人们通过隐喻将抽象的概念具体化。在众多的具体概念域中，空间域是其中之一。人们根据自身的身体结构以及接触外界的经验，将其他非空间域或者说是隐喻概念投射到空间域。并且用意象图式理论及其射体、界标和路径概念来描述这一过程。本文主要探讨的是“内外”、“i n o u t 这两对汉英语言体系中基本的、对应的空间方位词汇。内、外、i n 、o u t 是构成容器图式的基本要素，是最常见的一种空间意象图式。文章首先探讨了这两对空间方位词汇的空间意义，发现他们既有相似性也有不同点。接着文章深入探讨了这两对空间方位词汇在范畴、时间、状态、方式、结果、社会关系等非空间域的隐喻意义，和投射于不同的目标域的意象图式，并阐释了产生这些异同点背后的因由。以上结果有利e
