It is wrong.Richard: Are they always that difficult to make?Philip: The truth isyes. Ill try again.Robbie: At this rate, the wedding will take place tomorrow.Philip: Not to worry. OK. Here we go. Well figure a way.Grandpa enters the room.Grandpa: Howre you doing, fellas?Harry: nervously Not so good, Grandpa. We cant get this bow tie tied. Nobody knows how to do it. Do you?Grandpa: No. I never could, either.【语言点精讲】1. He looks in the mirror at his bow tie. 2. Are they always that difficult to make? 3. At this rate, the wedding will take place tomorrow. at this rate: 以这种(慢)速度。 4. Not to worry. Dont worry.5. If we cant tie the tie, then there cant be a wedding. 美语中结婚的另一种说法是“ tie the knot”,意思是“get married”,而tie和knot都是“结”的意思,所以说“If you cant tie the tie (knot) , you cant get married.”6. Youd better not make Harry any more nervous than he is. had better比 should, must口气更强烈。 7. Well figure a way. figure a way: 找到方法。8. Howre you doing, fellas? Philip: Well, you have your own tuxedo. How do you tie your bow tie?Robbie: Yeah, Grandpa, Ive seen you in it. You look great. How do you tie it?Grandpa: I dont.Richard: You dont?Harry: What do you mean?Grandpa: I never could tie one of thosethings bow ties. I have always worn a clip-on bow tie.Harry: A clip-on?Philip: Of course. Now I remember.Grandpa: Yes, its so easy. All you do is clip it around under your collar.Richard: We all need one of those.Robbie: The tuxedo rental store. Do you think theyre open?Philip: Should be. Sundays their big day.Richard: Ill call and find out. He leaves the room.Grandpa: Well, if theyre not, Ill lend you mine, Harry. Youre the only one who really needs to be wearing a tuxedo, anyway. 1. Well, you have your own tuxedo. 2. I never could tie one of thosethings bow ties. I have always worn a clip-on bow tie. one of those thingsbow ties: 3. All you do is clip it around under your collar. 4. The tuxedo rental store. Do you think theyre open? 5. Should be. Sundays their big day. should be: 也许。 Philip: He tries to make Harry feel better. Im the father of the bride. Im supposed to be worried about my daughter, and here I am with the man thats marrying my daughter-worrying about him.Grandpa: Poor Harry. I know the feeling. Wedding-day jitters.Robbie: to Richard as Richard returns Are they open?Richard: Were in luck. Theyre open. And they have lots of clip-on bow ties.Robbie: Ill bicycle down to the village and get them.Harry: Youd better hurry, Robbie.Robbie leaves. Grandpa: Theres lots of time. He looks at his watch. A little over two hours.Harry: In two hours and fifteen minutes Ill be married to Susan.Philip: And be a true member of the Stewart family.Grandpa: Oh, youre a lucky guy, Harry. Susan is one of the best women youll ever find. Shes just like her grandma.【语言点精讲】1. Im supposed to be worried about my daughter, and here I am with the man thats marrying my daughter-worrying about him. Im supposed to: 我本应该。 2. Poor Harry. I know the feeling. Wedding-day jitters. 3. Were in luck. be in luck: 4. Ill bicycle down to the village and get them. 5. In two hours and fifteen minutes Ill be married to Susan. Richard: Now, once you put the ring on Susans finger, you are one of us, Harry. And dont ever forget it.Harry: Ring? Ring? Oh my! What did I do with the rings? I put them in the pocket of my sports jacket.Richard: No, I think you put them in your tuxedo jacket pocket. Remember?Harry: Right. He searches in his pockets but doesnt find them. What did I do with the rings?Philip: Didnt you give them to Richard? Hes your best man. I remember. You gave them to Richard.Richard: Oh, yeah. I remember now. You handed them to me. Richard searches in his pockets. What did I do with them?Harry: I hope they arent lost.Grandpa: Oh, dont worry, Harry. They have to be here.Richard: I remember. I gave them to Robbie to hold so I wouldnt lose them.Harry: Wheres Robbie?Philip: Relax, Harry. Robbie went to pick up the clip-on bow ties.Harry: Oh, I forgot. What time is it?Grandpa: Its still a little over two hours, Harry. Just relax.Harry: What about the rings?Richard: Im sure Robbie has them.【语言点精讲】1. Now, once you put the ring on Susans finger, you are one of us, Harry. And dont ever forget it. once you put the ring on Susans finger: 2. I put them in the pocket of my sports jacket. 3. Didnt you give them to Richard? Hes your best man. Didnt you give them to Richard? 女傧相为bridesmaid或maid of honor。4. They have to be here. 5. No, no, Robbie doesnt have them. He gave them to me to hold on to them because he didnt want the responsibility of holing them. I put them in my tuxedo - but in the lapel pocket. He finds them there. Thats a relief. I was really worried.Richard: He takes the rings. Ill hold on to them for you. The best man always keeps the rings.Harry: Youre right. Youre right.
