重庆市南开中学2014高考英语阅读理解联合训练(1)及答案阅读理解 i really hadnt meant to yell at them. but that grey afternoon saw it just as my son and daughter were making a terrible mess on the floor in the kitchen.with a tiresome report to write, i felt bothered at my desk. suddenly, it occurred to me that my kids were at fault. a voice inside me insisted that i do something quickly.“ok, you two here, but what an awful thing you are attempting!” i was shouting angrily. i made for them, while it became evident that the boy wanted no part of me. “get away from us!” he shouted back, there being an expression of support from his sister.all of a sudden, i found the fault in myself. quickly i shaped my hands into pincers(钳子) and crawled towards them, “crabby(暴躁的) daddy is here. ha, ha, ha, he likes to yell at children, and then eat them!” my son continued to keep me away, but now he was laughing and crying at the same time. my mission to repair the damage caused by my yelling seemed to work well. still, i regretted not having controlled myself first in a right way.need i let them know how badly they were acting by blaming? this is a lesson that serves myself. it only shows just how to get rid of something (ill-feelings, responsibility) by blaming others. its not my “best self”.we have to search for our “best self” when with our children. they dont need perfect parents, but they do need parents who are always trying to get better. here, i am reminded of the words of a great thinker. “when a man lives with god, his voice shall be as sweet as the murmur of the book” then, in our lifetime, couldnt we always speak to our kids in such a sweet voice since most of us consider them as the most precious in the world? and before we reach this level, what should we do when we come across various difficult cases with our children?【文章大意】本文叙述了作者忙于烦人的工作时,发现孩子把房间弄的乱七八糟,于是大喊。 41. the author couldnt help yelling at his kids this time probably because_.a. the weather was so unpleasant b. he was tired of his boring workc. the kids didnt ask him to join them d. a daddy has his right to do so【答案】b【 解析】推理判断题。根据with a tiresome report to write, i felt bothered at my desk. suddenly, it occurred to me that my kids were at fault. 故选b42. which of the following made the author aware of his fault?a. no obvious reason. b. the boys yelling back.c. his self-awareness. d. the girls shouting back【答案】d【 解析】推理判断题。根据there being an expression of support from his sister.和all of a sudden, i found the fault in myself. 43. according to the passage, the author will _ in another similar situation.a. play a crab again like this time b. apologize to kids in a sincere wayc. avoid blaming kids in a hurry d. beat them up about such things【答案】c【 解析】推理判断题。根据i regretted not having controlled myself first in a right way. 44. what will the writer go on to write about in the next paragraph(s)?a. how to behave ourselves properly when kids are at fault.b. how to play with our children in a more interesting way.c. how to deal with the housework with children around us.d. how to persuade children to do what they are told to.【答案】c【 解析】推理判断题。根据what should we do when we come across various difficult cases with our children? 45. what does “the boy wanted no part of me” in the third paragraph mean?a. the boy was happy because i loved them.b. the boy was curious because i wanted to help them. c. the boy was very happy for i was angry. d. the boy didnt want me to join them.【答案】a【 解析】词义猜测题。 故选a阅读理解affordable boutique hotels in new york cityby stephen heyman june 20, 2010a new breed of hotels is trying to stand out from the masses with designer details, memorable allowances and prices around $250 a night.welcome to boutique hotel.to get those summer tickets in new york, strategizeby felicia r. lee may 28, 2010“the merchant of venice” is on show. tickets can now be requested online, most new yorkers know the drill: on the day of the show, line up outside the theater in central park several hours before 1 p.m., when free tickets start being handed out. climbing the walls in brooklynby louise story may 28, 2010since opening last fall, brooklyn boulders, an 18,000-square-foot gym, has become a destination for new york rock climbers of all levels.hotel review: ace hotel, new yorkby fred a. bernstein september 27, 2009the owners are hoping that guests will enjoy the spacious accommodations, but that depends on whether they find the hotels oddities off-putting or endearing.tent city: a childs urban adventureby eric konigsberg july 24, 2009one of the better-kept secrets of the city is the series of one-night family campouts that the parks & recreation department has every summer weekend.1. if you want to stay in a hotel in new york city for a week and enjoy designer details, memorable allowances, you need to get prepared for at least_.a. $ 1550b. $ 1650 c. $ 1750d. $ 18502. _ is a good destination for new york rock climbers of all levels.a. the parks & recreation departmentb. brooklyn boulders c. lower manhattand. tent city3. suppose you are interested in shakespeares plays, you may pay attention to more details written by _. a. eric konigsbergb. louise story c. fred a. bernsteind. felicia r. lee【参考答案】13、 cbd 阅读理解-many of us mistakenly believe that its wrong to think we have any good qualities. we may spend a lot of time blaming ourselves for our negative qualities, thinking that self criticism is the key to improving our performance. however, a constant focus on our supposed shortcomings can stop our efforts to make friends with other people. how can we believe that others could like us if we believe our inner being is flawed? if someone seems to dislike you, the reason for that dislike might have little or nothing to do with you. the person who doesnt like you might be fearful, or shallow or busy or shy. perhaps you and that person are simply a mismatch for each other at this particular time.dont take yourself out of the game by deciding that your flaws are bigger than your good qualities. in fact, some of the very qualities you consider to be flaws may be irresistible to someone else. although some factors that might cause one person to reject you, there are at least many factors that will work in your favor.you might be thirty pounds over your ideal weight, but you may have a wonderful laugh and a real enthusiasm for life. there are many people who dont mind your extra pounds. you may drive a shabby car, but you might be a great dancer and a loyal friend. there are people out there looking for loyalty, or fun, or sweetness, or wisdom, and the package it comes in is not important. if you are worried that you are not beautiful enough to attract friends, keep in mind that not everyone is looking for physical beauty in their friends. you can decide to feel inferior because you dont have much money and you dont drive a nice car. you can believe that this is the reason that you dont have many friends in your life. on the other hand, if you are very wealthy you may be suspicious that everyone is after your money and that nobody really likes you as a person. the point is that you can focus on just about anything and believe its the reason you do not have friends and cannot make any.【小题1】according to the passage, plays an important role in making friends. a. admitting your shortcomings b. self criticism c. modestyd. confidence【小题2】if you are not liked by a person, . a. you should find the reason in yourself b. youd better talk with the person face to face c. you may not be the one to be blamed d. you and that person misunderstand each other【小题3】we can learn from the third paragraph that . a. your good qualities may make you earn more money b. your weakness may also be your strengths in some way c. your negative qualities may cause you to lose friends d. youll have few friends if you dont share the same interest【小题4】 which of the following is true according to the author?
