I think it is a wonderful place to live (in).Difficult points:1Learn to describe hometown .2Teach students how to arrange the writing materials.Teaching methods: situational approach, task-based approachTeaching aid: posterTeaching procedures:STEP1 Exchange1 students exchange the work of preview, and teacher should give some guide and evaluate .2 read: students read the words and sentences after the teacher. Teacher should pay attention to their pronunciation.3. Finish the test of preview and check out . STEP 2 Presentation 1. Talk to Ss about the purpose of writing a video script. It is important to engage students interest 2. Creating Situation and assign the task (创设情境,指派任务)Present a poster. Title: an exchange meeting Activity: Introduce your hometown with video Time: Next Monday Place: Class1,Grade7 Invite: the exchange students from Britian, the Class1,Grade7 studentsT: Next Monday, an exchange meeting is going to be held in Our class. You and the exchange students will introduce your hometown in the meeting with video. Do you know how to write a video script about your hometown? And now John, one of the exchange students, is making a video about his hometown. Lets go to learn.3. Discussion:If you are Johns audiences, what would you like to know(Elicit ideas about a possible audience and what aspects they would like to focus on.)? Talk with your group members .(小组合作,集思广益。但教师必须巡视) 4. Point some students to talk about what they would like to know. Teacher can write down students some ideas on the blackboard. For example: Is his hometown big? Where does he live? What type of house do you live in? What kind of place is it? What can people do there? What about the people there? What interesting places are there in his hometown? . .STEP 3 Part A1 1. John should write a video script . And now he is making some notes before writing the script. Lets go through the notes in Part A1. Read the notes and answer the questions on the blackboard. Work out with your partern. 2. Point five pairs of students to talk about the question.(每对一题,根据问题难易度请不同能力的同学回答) 3.Get the students to read the phrases one by one.4.Good habits: Teacher should tell students that preparing a writing notes before writing is a good hobby.This hobby can help them to get their ideas into shape.STEP 4 See the video1. See the video, then let them say something about Johns hometown. Before seeing, give them two questions: a. Do you think Johns hometown is a good place to live in? b. Which is his favourite place?2. Listen and Read. Listen to the radio and read the video script after the radio. Then answer some questions: a. How many people live in Johns hometown? b. How do people get into the town centre? c. What is Johns neighbour like? d. What do people do in the town?e. where does John live?3. Get the students to figure out the structure of the article.4. Ask them to work in pairs to find out the main idea of each paragraph.STEP 5 Work out the structure 1 Analysis the structure of the passage and work out the structure about how to write a script about hometown. 2.Show the method: Make the students know that we should choose some useful items in the notes . Some should be writed more.Some should be deleted. STEP 6 Discuss what to write 1.T: Whose hometown is better, yours or Johns? Now, please write an article about your own hometown for the exchange students. What should you write in your article?2. Note: write down the notes about your hometown as John do on P40.Making notes is a good hobby.3.Discuss : Take the picture about your hometown and discuss what to write about hometown with your partern.( Tell Ss that they need to organize pictures and text. They can use the planning notes what they write as a guide.)STEP 7 Writing Give the students 3-4 minutes for them to decide which to write about. Ask Ss to choose 5or 6 items. Walk around to help the students to organize their ideas and get more ideas. Tell the students to write about their own experien
