Then who will tell us the customs like this? What customs have you learned?S1:I know in Japan and Korea they usually bow, but in America they should shake hands.S2: In Mexico,people usually shake hands for the first time,but in Brazil they usually kiss. S3:In Switzerland its very important to be on time,so youd better not to be late when you meet friends in Switzerland.S4.T:Just now, weve reviewed some manners and customs, today well continue to learn Unit 10 Section B. This lesson,the importance are talking about table manners. First lets take a quiz.Step 2Taking a quizOpen your books, turn to Page 77.look at the quiz in 1a. there are 5 manners in the quiz. Do you know them?you must read and translate them,then circle T for true or F for false. Then lets complete 1a alone.Check the answers together.T: Lets look at the first one, is it true or false?S1: I think its F and give his translations.T: Who agrees with him?Ss: some dont agree.T: ask who has different answers?S2: I think its T.T: This custom is very unusual, is it true or false. Dont worry,lets watch a short film. Then play the film about table manners in India.Then Im sure you all know the answer.Ss: Yes, its true.T: lets look at the second.S: translate and give the answer.T: Have you ever stick your chopsticks into the food?S: No,I havent.T: Very good, I think you are a polite boy.T:Next .Step3 useful words and expressionsT: Look at the quiz,there are some useful words and expressions.Can you find them in it?Show the Chinese.Ss: Take out the exercise book and finish the task alone. One go to the blackboard to write.T: Lead the students to point out the mistake. Ss: Read together.T:Then lets practise them in pairs.Ss: Work in pairs about the words and expressions. One say in English the other in Chinese,And ask his or her partner to spell to remember them.T: Which group will show your activities?Ss: Group Show.Step 4 listeningT: These phrases and expressions are very important . In the next listening practice they probably appear again.Look at the pictures, and guess the possible expressions that appear in the dialogue.S1: Stick .into.S2: Start eatingS3: Point at.T:Play the tape for the first time,ask the students to number the pictures in the order they hear.Ss:Listen and complete 1b alone.T/S:Check the answers together.T: Show the expressions and phrases on the screen, ask the students to listen and match them.Ss:Listen and complete 1c alone .T/S:Check the answers together.Step 5 work in groupsT: Show the important expressions in the listening practice, lets use the expressions to talk about other manners in our country.
