The non-verbal communication in print ads of perfumel The difficulties:Perfume is used to create a pleasant smell, which is not seeable when it works. So it seems a difficult task for perfume sellers to convince the customers by using print ads. However, smart sellers can always find ways to advertise their products.l Here are several common methods to advertise perfume in print ads:a. Colors: As can be seen in most perfume ads, there are always theme colors to show various styles. Different colors give people different kind of feelings. Although people cannot smell the perfume, the color in the ads can give people a kind of intuitional experience. Pink, for example, often let people feel luscious and relax. Golden or brown however means classical and magnificent. Black is often the symbol of mystery, while red implying enthusiastic. These colors are used most frequently in print ads of perfume. b. Figures: People often use perfume to make themselves more attractive. Seizing this mentality, perfume sellers often invite beautiful attractive stars, which indicate that people will be as attractive as the stars in the ads after using this kind of perfume. The pose and the fascial expressions of these figures also deliver many messages. Some models like to hand the perfume closely to their body, which indicate a close relationship with this perfume. Some like to pretend an enjoyable facial expression with this perfume, to imply how nice the perfume is. And there are also many models like to have special pose to show their individuality. Like the example below, the girl with hydrogen balloon in hand shows a pursuit of freedom and romantic, while the woman in the next picture delivery a wild and enchanted character.c. Flowers: Flowers are also wildly used in the ads of the perfume. Perfume sellers want to deliver a sense of smell by putting flowers in their ads. Seeing a lot of beautiful roses in the picture, people will be led to feel the smell even by vision.d. Enlargement:Enlarging the perfume in the ads can give a vision impact. Sometimes we can see a model in the ads is even smaller than the bottle of the perfume. By putting the bottle of perfume in the main part of the ads, customers will remain a deeper impression on this kind of perfume.Whats more, a enlarged bottle seems much more magnificent and luxurious, which make the perfume more attractive.e. Stories:Telling a story in the ads can display the theme of the perfume. The ads of Treasure, for example, tells a story of a meet on the bridge which represents the theme that love is a treasure. This romantic story draws lots of peoples attention and help the perfume sells good.f. Bottles: The bottle of the perfume sometimes is also an attractive factor in the ads. Simply a wonderful bottle may captivate customers. The shapes of the bottles are various. Some are classic choices like square, roundness, heart-shaped, crescent, cone, while others are odd shapes which looks ingenious or unique. Nowadays some perfume are kept in bottles with simplified and abstract style. It shows a kind of simple and modern. The colors of the bottles are various too, but light colors especially lemon are used most frequently as it can match with most of the perfume and arouse a sense of fresh.In addition, some perfume has decorations like bowknots or carved designs or a well-designed bottle cap to make the bottle more attractive. In any case, the style of the bottle must be well matched with the style of the perfume.l ConclusionDifferent colors, figures, pattens, stories and even the shapes of the bottles in the ads can be attractive to customers. But do these these materials do real works to perfume? The answer is undoubtedly not. People use perfume to create a peasant smell but not to enjoy their looks. However, perfume sellers always do their best to mislead customers to believe in this ridiculous inaccuracy.But we should ad
