She took me to the class. There were so many children in the classroom. I didnt know them. I felt nervous again.I learned how to swim last summer. My father took me to a swimming pool. Unit3 I love readingHello, Im john. I like taking pictures. Its fascinating. My parents bought me a camera three years ago. They showed me how to take good pictures. Now I have a digital camera. So I can store all the pictures in my computer. Its so convenient.I spend a lot of time taking pictures of different things. I like taking pictures of landscapes with trees and mountains, and the sea is the best place for me. I can always fond something different in the color of the sea. Its one of the most beautiful cities Ive ever been to. Its different from Beijing or shanghai. In Dalian, the air is fresh. There is not as much traffic as in other big cities. The streets are clean. And I like the people there. They are so friendly. You feel so good when you walk along the beach. Beautiful flowers and trees are around you. You see boats moving on the sea. You can taste a lot of different sea food. They are delicious. I like the city. I want to go there again. My favorite meal I only eat vegetables and fruits. I never cook. My favorite food is vegetable salad and fruits. They look great on their own. They are fresh, juicy, sweet and tasteful. I like almost all kinds of vegetables. My favorite fruits are bananas, water melons, pineapples, mangos, peaches, apples and kiwis. Some of my friends are just like me. They also like fruits and vegetables. For a fine day, Ill invite them or theyll invite me. Well go to the countryside and sit under the trees and not in the direct sun, because its bad for our skin. We take plates, knives and forks with us. Well play CDs. We usually have folk music and light music. We also listen to birds singing and enjoy breezes. It will be a quiet and peaceful time. Eating in a restaurant There is a new restaurant around the corner of my street. It serves western food. The other day, a friend of mine came to see me. We talked and enjoyed ourselves in different ways. Then we went to the restaurant for lunch. I had roast beef sandwich and my friend had chicken. The food was delicious, but the service was a problem. It was slow. There werent forks or spoons on our table. The waiter didnt bring water and napkins until we asked. When we asked for more coke, it simply never arrived. We got tired of asking for everything. You can go there and have a try, if you have a lot of time and patient. Why? The food is good and delicious. A pot luck dinnerSandra comes from America. Sometimes when her family gets together with other families or friends they have a meal called a “pot luck dinner”. They can have it in the evening or even at lunchtime. They had it in Sandras home last weekend. Sandra called her friends and invites them to join her family. When her friends came each of them brought a dish of food. One got a salad; one brought some fish. One got some sea food. Another took some fruits and drinks with her. Some of them also came with cakes, noodles and a lot of different kinds of food. There were some lovely surprises at the dinner party. This is just a great fun. No one knows what youre going to come with. As the guests arrived, they put their dish, or pot on the table and the meal was served buffet-style. Everyone chose his own drink. It took us about an hour and a half to get to a village. It wasnt a big village. There were about 40 families there. Over 20 families take tourists like us. We stayed in one of the family hotels. It was clean and comfortable. The hotel cooked good meals for us. We had fresh fish. We tasted some edible wild herbs. We had barbecue in the evening. That was one of the most interesting things there. It was exciting and the food was delicious. During the day we went out to the hill. They were not very high, but it took us a while to get the top. On top of the hill you just had a beautiful view. You could never have such a view in the city. Of course not everything was good about the visit. There were many flies and mosquitoes there. You didnt feel safe when you ate meals. And you couldnt sleep well because mosquitoes upset your sleep all night. Anyway on the whole it was an interesting trip, full of fun. Unit 9 Where do you do the shopping?There are 50 states in the United States of America. The largest state in size is Alaska and the smallest is Rhode Island. The Mississippi River is one of the longest rivers in the world and also the longest river in America. It is called the Mother of River. Washington D.C. is the capital of the United States of America. Therefore it is the most important city in America. But it is not the largest city in America. New York is the largest. It is much bigger in size than Washington D.C. the state of California is the largest in population in the U.S.A. the warmest states in America are Florida and California.
