Ss : Yes .T : Last class ,we talked about some famous foreign books .Show some pictures and talk about them .2.Show a play and guess what it is ?Ask 5 students to stand in front of the classroom and show a play .T : Can you guess ?Ss :Yes . It is Robinson Crusoe .T: Most of students read it in Chinese . So we are very familiar with it .This class we will read it in English .Step 2 While reading .1. Fast reading .T : Now look through the passage ,how many paragraphs ?Ss : Four .T : Lets read it one by one .and get the main idea .Now read paragraph 1 and get the main idea .Read paragraph 2 and get the main idea .What does the writer mainly tell us ?2. Careful reading.1. Read the passage carefully . Show two questions .What does Robinson Crusoe wait for ?He waits for another ship ?Why does Robinson Crusoe call the man Friday ?Because he saved him on Friday.2.Read the passage again and do 3b and 3c .3b1. You can use these to shoot things :( gun )2. Something you use to travel in the sea : ( ship ) .3. A piece of land in the middle of the sea : ( island ) .4. You can use these to cut things: ( knives ) .5. Signs left behind by someone or something : ( marks ) .3c1. Robinson Crusoe arrived on the island with enough food and drink .With enough food and drink -without anything . 2. Friday made a small boat . Friday-Robinson Crusoe .3. Robinson had some food and tools when he first arrived on the island . Had some food and tools-had nothing.4. Robinson used the ship to build his house . Ship -knives .5. Friday saw some marks of another mans feet on the beach . Friday- Robinson. 6. Robinson tried to kill the two men . Robinson-CannibalStep 3After reading.1 Retell the story .2 Free talk. What do you think of this story ? nteresting / Exciting Excellent/ Meaningful. And so on . What do you think of Robinson Crusoe ? rave/Never give up and so on . Step 5 Discuss in groups .
