外贸，自然而然都会涉及外语交流，然而正所谓“一方水土一方人”，跟不同国家的客户打交道常常会犯一些很低级的口语错误。当然如果是熟悉的老客户，还很可能堂而皇之地应付过去，可是一旦遇上新客户的话，这些非常不专业的表现很容易让客户就此“流产”。因此对于新客户，特别是非英语国家的客户来讲，如此更清楚地表达自己，让对方明白，进而使对外贸易工作能顺利地进行，这成了我国大部分外贸从业人员的必修课。下面，我这些常见的外贸用语，你犯错了吗?1、这个订单， 我们的利润非常低中式英语: Our profit is very low in this order.地道英语: Our margin is very thin in this order.2、如何用英文表达“辛苦你了”?中文跟英文的思维方式和表达习惯是有很大差异的, 我们用中文日常对话, 或者书信电邮, 经常会用到这类寒暄的句型, 对于对方的帮助表示感谢, 如“辛苦你了”，“麻烦你了”等.但是英文中是不能这样直译的, 如果翻译成“you must be tired”客户绝对是一头雾水, 觉得很难理解. 这就是文化的差异. 所以我们要表达这类对于对方辛苦帮忙的感谢, 还是简单地说一句: Thank you for your kind help 或者 Sorry to troubleyou, 就可以了。3、“硬性规定”在口语里怎么说?很多时候跟客户讨论一些问题, 比如付款方式之类的, 如果客户要求远期付款, 而业务员坚持要做信用证, 没有别的余地, 就需要跟客户申明, 这是我们公司的硬性规定. 在这种情况下, 用Company rule 或者 company policy, 程度就不够了, 会让人觉得还可以变通.在英文中, “硬性规定”有一个专门的短语, 是 hard and fast rule.如: 抱歉 Michael, 我们只能接受电汇, 而且必须有定金. 这是我们的硬性规定.Sorry, Michael, we could only accept T/Twith deposit.
