How often do you exercise?Good afternoon everyone. Im honored to stand here to present my lesson and share my teaching ideas with all of you. The lesson I am going to talk about is unit 1 How often do you exercise? I will talk about it from five parts. They are teaching material, students analysis, teaching methods and aids, teaching procedure and blackboard design. You can see, they are just like a beautiful flower. Of course, my lovely students are the center.Ok now I will introduce my teaching plan one by one. Please follow me into the first part, teaching material.I will analyze it from three aspects. They are status and function, teaching objectives, teaching key points and difficulties. Go for it is a series of textbooks design for junior middle school students. It carries out a task-based language teaching model. The essential idea of it is to challenge students to gain communicative ability in the study of the culture of this language. Each unit is divided into two partssection A and section B. The first part is aiming at making the students master the basic language content, while the latter is the expansion of knowledge integrated use of language. In section a students have learned the structure: How often do you ? In section b students will learn some new words and learn more about the structure. The next part is teaching objectives. I divide it into three parts: knowledge objectives, ability objectives and moral objectives. First, knowledge objectives. In section B, students will learn some new words, one key expression and structure.Second, ability objectives. In the process of learning language , the four skills are inseparable and they all contribute to improve their language skills. In my class, I will design some activities to enhance their four skills.Next, moral objectives. According to the new standard of English curriculum, moral education play an important role in language teaching. In this unit I will try my best to help the students to establish healthy life style.Ok, let us move on to the next part: teaching key points and difficulties. The key points are new words : milk, coffee, junk food: expression is be good for and structure is How often do you? Students should pay much attention to them. The difficult point is when to use the this structure correctly in daily life, so the students need to practice more.After the introduction of teaching material, it is time to talk about students analysis. Most of the middle school students are aged from 13 to 15 years old. They are active, talkative, and creative. When I design activities, I will take these into consideration. That will motivate studentslearning enthusiasm.As for teaching methods, I will mainly use taskbased teaching methods. Various tasks will be designed to help the students master the new structure. Besides, I will use situational teaching methods, which will help the students to correctly use the new structure in daily life.Next part is teaching aids. During my teaching activity, I will use multimedia to make my class interesting. Apart from it, I will also use some pictures, a box, recordings and charts. All of these will enhance the communication between teacher and students.Now we will come to the most important part of my teaching idea-teaching procedure. I will talk about it from five steps. They are leadin, presentation, practice, production and homework.First, leadin. I will show them a dialogue which we have learned last class. some volunteers will be invited to read it. Through this, on one hand, they will be delighted, because they show what they have learned. On the other hand, they can be well prepared for this class, I will show them some pictures, which are related to the new words. To arouse their learning enthusiasm and curiosity, I will give them five to ten seconds to guess how to call them in English. This is brainstorm. And then I will give them the right answers. To help the students remember the new words, I will ask them to choose one they like the best and put it into the box. In such an interesting way, the students can easily remember the new words. And then a new question. How often do you drink or eat it? So the new topic is introduced to them. And then the students will be asked to answer the question. To open their minds, I will give them examples. Here I use the situational teaching method to introduce the new words and structure to the students. And questioning them can practice their autonomous studying ability and imaginative ability.Step3 practice. After learning the new words and structure, students can have reading practice and listening practice. First, reading practice. Two students will be a group to practice this dialogue. Doing this can enhance their reading ability. Then listening practice. It will be divided into two step. The first part is an easier one and then a difficult one. These practices can help students develop a good listening habit and to improve their listening skill.Step4 production. After the mechanical practice, let us move on to a interesting one. They are asked to act a role play. The new structure and words should be used in it. They can begin in such way. After preparation, some volunteers will be asked to act it out. The best pair will get a red star. Here I use the situational teaching method, which can help students use the new structure and words correctly in daily life. And role play can practice their speaking and cooperation ability, meanwhile, by guide them to develop healthy life style, moral objective can be achieved.Last but not least, student should do some homework.
