Ability aims:Students can use the key sentences to cultivate their abilities of speaking and listening.To foster students abilities of communication and their innovation3. Emotional aims:To foster students consciousness of good cooperation and proper competition.To lead students protect the other animals.Teaching key pointsKey sentences:Look at that giraffe.Wow,Its so tall!A bear!Ha!Its short and fat!Teaching difficult points:Students can describe features of the animals.Teaching aids:Multimedia,some pictures,the word cards.Teaching procedures:Step1 Warming up1. Greeting2. Sing a song:Old MacdonaldStep2 Presentation1. Design a situation:Go to the zoo!and divide the class into 2 groups.2. Show a picture of giraffe,let students understand the meaning of “giraffe”.And lead the sentences: Look at that giraffe.Show some pictures of animals,lets students practice the sentence patterns. S1:Look at that.3. Teacher compares height with the giraffe,and lead the sentences: Wow!Its so tall!Let students pass the bear and practice the talk S1: Look at that giraffe. S2:Wow!Its so tall!4. show a video,and lead the sentences: Its short and fat!Practice the sentences pattern by some pictures. S1:Look at that. S2:Its short/fat!5. Follow the video,then role play.Step3 Practice1. Draw and say.Ask students draw a picture about animals,then describe its feature.2. Fancy dress ballLet students wear the tire and describe features of their favorite animal.Step4 Consolidation and extensionShow some pictures about protecting animals
