Today I am much honored to stand here to talk about the topic “Grammar of Unit8 on page 97”. I will divide the instruction into seven parts: they are the teaching content, teaching aims, teaching important and difficult points, teaching methods and aids, teaching procedures, blackboard design and summary.Part 1 The teaching contentThe topic is selected from Fun with English 8A Unit 8. The teaching content is from Page 97. The main idea of the topic is how to use the past continuous tense to talk about things that were happening for some time in the past. This part concludes not only grammar, but also developing the students abilities of speaking and writing . Part 2 Teaching aims: Knowledge aims:1. Show three pictures to review the present continuous tense, and lead in the past continuous tense. Use these sentences “What is the woman doing now? She is walking now? What was the woman doing just now? She was walking just now.” as a model. And write the following sentences on the blackboard. 1. She was singing at 9 oclock yesterday evening. 2. We are reading books from 7 to 8 yesterday morning. 3. They were chatting at this time yesterday.
