(students answer) 2) Ask students to finish exercise one (put the topics in the order you think) (a) explanation of the programmes title what the programme is about (b) reason why the programme is so good (c) more information about the programme (d) general opinion of the programme2. Reading (20) First reading-fast reading (4) Ask students to read the text quickly to check their answers and get the procedure of writing a review. Second reading (To get the details) (8) Read the text again and answer the following questions in six minutes. Be sure to writ e down some key words and phrases to support you. Q: How does the reviewer feel about most TV programs? What was special about Harriet Tubman? Why did plantation owners want to catch her? Why did the reviewer like the program so much? (Then ask students to answer the questions one by one. The teachers write down the key words and phrases on the blackboard while they are answering them. According to the key words and phrases, ask them to retell the text)Third reading (To understand some language points) ( 3)Read the text again and finish exercises in 3 minutes and check in class(1). -my reaction is to say “So what” and yawn. We use this phrase when we think something is important /unimportant. (2) I can count on the fingers of one hand the programmes that have really stimulated me. The reviewer thinks there are very few/a lot of interesting programmes(3). I watched a programme that made me believe in television all over again. The programme made the reviewer think that TV is beneficial /useless once more. (4). What made the programme really special about the imaginary scenes-These scenes had /had not actually taken place. (5). I spent a lot of time watching from behind the sofa. The reviewer watched form behind the sofa because he was frightened of/ enjoying the programme. Step III.
