Emotional goals: 1) Learn to talk about the popular culture, know about all kinds of TV shows and programs they like to watch. Teachers should lead students to form the correct concepts. 2)Teachers also have to cultivate the students cross-cultural awareness and form students independent personalities.二、Teaching important points and difficult points1. Teaching important points:1) learn to know the names of TV shows and programs2) the usage of the verb infinitive 2.Teaching difficult points:The usage of the verb infinitive.三、Teaching stepsStep1: Review Put up the pictures of a school talent showTeacher: the students in America has all kinds of talents. In China many people also have their talents. Lets enjoy the voice of China.T: What kind of TV show is it?Ss: its a talent show.T: I like talent shows because I like beautiful songs.设计意图:通过复习Unit4中talent show环节,过渡到每个人都有自己的才能,引出同学们喜爱的中国好声音。自然可以谈论到本节课的话题。Step2: Presentation Put up ppt1 and encourage Ss to say what kind of shows they are.talk show news sitcom soap operaT: I like game shows because they are educational.After presenting the new words, let Ss read after the teacher.a.From the news, we can find out whats going on around the world.b.I like sitcoms because I can learn some great jokes 设计意图:呈现同学们熟悉的节目,同学们都有共鸣,都能说出他们喜欢此类节目的理由。Step3: Brainstorminga.
