Section A (1a1c) Teaching aims:1.Knowledge aims:(1)Key words and phrases: newspaper, use, soup, wash, reading a newspaper, using the computer, making soup (2)Key sentences: -What are you doing? -Im watching TV.-Whats he doing? -He is using the computer. -What are they doing? -They are listening to a CD. 2.Ability aims:Can talk about what people are doing by using these useful phrases.3.Emotion aims: By watching the other peoples actions, students can use present progressive tense to talk about these actions what they are doing.Teaching important and difficult points: 1.Be able to use present progressive tense to talk about what people are doing. 2.How to use the useful phrases to talk about these actions what people are doing.Teaching steps:Step1:Lead-in(Ask some students to do some actions in front of the class.)T:Whats she doing?Ss:She is listening to a CD.T:What are they doing?Ss:They are talking.T:What is he doing?Ss:He is using the computer.Step2:Warming-upAsk Ss to match the phrases with pictures on the screen.Step3:New words and phrases.Learn the new words and phrases using some pictures.Step4: Work on 1a. Ss read the activities and look at the pictures. Then match the activities with pictures. Check the answers with the Ss. Step5: Work on 1b Play the recording for the Ss twice.Ss listen to the recording and write the numbers from 1a and complete the sentences. (1) Jenny is _ TV. watching(2) John is _ the dishes. washing(3) Dave and Mary are _ to a CD. ListeningStep6: Explanation现在进行时表示现在(说话瞬间)或现阶段正在进行或发生的动作,常与now, these days等时间状语连用。现在进行时的结构:am/ is/ are +v.-ing动词现在分词的变化规则:1.一般情况下,直接在动词后加-ing。2.以辅音字母加不发音的字母e结尾的,去e,再加-ing。3.在重读闭音节里,以一个辅音字母结尾的,双写该辅音字母再加-ing。如:watch-watching clean-cleaning read-reading talk-talking listen-listening use-using make-making wash-washing exercise-exercisingStep7:Practice Ask the Ss to speak out what the person is doing in the pictures given by teachers.Step8: Work on 1c: Pair work 1. Ask the Ss to read the conversations in 1c with a partner. Then look at the pictures in 1a. and conversations about other person in the picture.2. Ss make conversations by themselves and practice the conversations
