B: I walk. How about you? A: I ride my bike.Teaching Difficulty To learn to talk about how to get to places. To be able to use the key vocabulary and the target language by listening and speaking.Teaching ProceduresStep leading-in.Greet the class as usual.Show a picture of students walking to school and ask What are they doing? Help students answer they are walking. Then say Yes, they walk to school. Now lets learn unit 3 How do you get to school? Period 1. Show studying aims and have students read them to know what they are going to learn in this class.Step II. Context and vocabulary.Make up a context and teach the vocabulary by using ECMDW(elicit, concept, model, drill and write). Context: I have a friend. Her name is Amy. She is a student. She has a nice bike. She likes it very much. Every day she rides her bike to get to school. Her brother doesnt like riding a bike. He takes the bus to school. Her father takes the subway to work and her mother takes the train to work.Vocabulary:1. A bike is a kind of transportation. It has two wheels. You can sit on it and use your feet to make it go. Look at the pictures, which one is a bike? Can you show me? Ride a bike means make the bike move. Then repeat ride a bike twice and have the students listen. Next ask students to repeat. Then write the phrase on the blackboard.2. A bus is also a kind of transportation. It is big. It has four wheels. It has many seats and it goes along its own route. Take a bus means move on a bus.3. A train is another kind of transportation. It is very long. It has many parts and wheels. It goes on the ground. 4. A subway is a kind of transportation. It is as long as a train. It goes under the ground.Write the phrases on the blackboard.Step III Matching Focus on activity 1a. Have students look at the pictures and match the words with the pictures. Then check the answers.Step BrainstormHave students work in groups to discuss and list the names of transportation. Then invite four groups to write theirs on the blackboard. Limit the time in one minute. Then check and count how many correct words each group writes. Step Pairwork 1. Show a picture of a bus. Point to the bus and say: Suppose you are on the bus. How do you get to school? Help students to answer. Then boys and girls ask and answer again. Next invite a pair of students to act out the conversation.2. Show many kinds of transportation and ask students work in pairs to ask and answer how they get to school. Then invite several pairs to share their conversations with the class. Step ListeningCall students attention to activity 1b. First ask students to say what each person is doing. Then point out the names of the students in the box. Read the names to the class. Tell students that two people are talking about how some students get to school. Now listen to the conversation and write the numbers of the names in the white box next to the correct students. One of them has already been done. Then use ICQS(instruction check questions)to check if students understand the instructions: Do you have to write the numbers or names in the box? Ss: Numbers.Play the recording for the first time. Students only listen. Play it a second time and ask the students listen and write. Then check the answers.Step VII Groupwork1. Invite one pair of students to act out the conversation in activity 1c.2. Now work in groups. Ask and answer other students in the pictures in 1a how they get to school. Make up a long conversation. ICQS: 1. Do you work with your partner or group?(Group.) 2. Do you have to make up one or three conversations? (One.)3. After students finish, invite several groups to share their conversations with the class.Step VIII WritingAsk students to write a short passage about how their parents and friends get to work or school. Invite a student to write on the blackboard. After finishing, ask them to swap theirs to the p
