Unit 9 What does he look like?Period 1 1a-1c教学目标:1. 知识目标:(1)学习有关描述人物外貌的词汇:tall, short, long, build, heavy, thin, like, always, medium height, medium build, long hair, short hair, curly hair, straight hair. (2) 熟练掌握谈论人物外貌的句型,让学生从身高,身材,头发等描述人 物. 如: What does your friend look like? She is of medium build, and she has long hair.2. 能力目标:帮助学生听的懂有关描述人物外表的信息并对人物外表能做 简单的描述。3. 情感目标:通过学生之间对外貌特征的描述,以及对霍金的了解,让学生学会关爱他人,尊重他人。4. 学习策略目标:培养学生积极参于,善于合作的精神。(三)教学重点与难点:重点:描述人物外部特征的词汇及基本句型。难点:如何把本课所学的词汇用在句子中来回答“What does he /she look like?”这个句型。(4) . 课前准备:1. 课前了解和收集喜欢的明星相片。2. 将学生分成4 个小组。三教学过程:Step1 warm up. 1. Greeting.2.Show a photo of my new Wechat friend , lead students to say she is beautiful and funny. Then ask how to describe peoples look.3.Lead in. This class well learn how to talk about someones look. Well learn unit 9 What does he look like? Read together. ( (板书课题) 4. T:When we talk about someones look, we can talk about height, build and Hair. 板书: height build hair ) and learn the new words.Step 2 learning the new words on their own. 1.Describe people s height T:First Ill teach you how to talk about height. (1). Show some pictures of some stars and say : T:What does he look like? (他长得什么样子?) (板书)The students answer: He is tall /short. (2) Ask :Is he tall? Is he short? If he isnt tall or short , we say “The students answer: He is tall /short”. Then the students answer: He is of medium height.(3). Read the sentences.2.Describe people s build3. Describe peoples hair(1). Show two pictures of people, lead students to say the phrases about long/short hair, curly/straight hair.(2) Read these sentences.4. Read all the new words and try to remember them.Step 3 Check what they have learned.1.Show Xie Nas photos again , talk about her look together.2.Talk about some students look.Step 4 work on 1a. T: Everyones look is special. Look at the people in the picture in 1a, what do they look like?Please match the people with the words.1. Read the title.2. Read the words.3. Students match the people with the words.4. Students answer.( Please answer like this: _ has_ hair. _is _. Example: e has short hair.)Step 5 Work on 1b . T: Everyones look is special. It can help us to find someone. (Show the picture of Amy. This is Amy. Her friend is in the picture. T: Everyones look is special. Suppose one of the people in 1a is your friend. Lets ask and answer about your friend ,let your partner find your friend in the picture. Here are some examples. 2. Read the examples. 3. Students work in pairs. 4. Ask some pairs to show their conversations. Step 7 Work on 2a and 2b. 1. T:You did a good job. Show the picture and ask: Is he tall or short? Is he heavy or thin?Show another picture to tell the answers. 2. 2a Well meet three friends: David, Sally and Peter.(1)Ask students read the sentences.(2)Play the tape.(3)Check the answers. 3. Fill in the chart in 2b .(1) Play the tape the second time.(2) Check the answers.Step 8 Group work . 1. Show some pictures of famous stars. Ask students to make conversations with their group members. 2. Show their conversations.Step 9 summarize and do some exercises.Step 10 Chant Step 11 Homework.1.
