Greeting.2. Show a now picture of my best friend, ask the student to observe first and describe her appearance, then guess her personality. Teacher writes main words on the blackboard.S1: she is tall. S2: she has long hair. S3: she is outgoing. (And so on.) 引导复习以前学过的用来描述人的外貌及性格的词汇。Step II Lead-in and language study 1a (8 minutes)1. Show an old picture of this best friend. Students observe it. Teacher tells them this photo was taken 10 years ago and gives an example sentence.E.g. She used to be short. Teacher must emphasizes the structure “used to”, then ask the students: “Can you find some differences?” Let them describe her appearance and personality as much as they can, have to use the structure “used to”2. Summarize their answers and write main words on the blackboard, let students tell the meaning of “used to” by themselves. 3. Work in groups to finish off 1a, write as more as they can. Ask some students to present their result of the discussion.通过贴近生活的图片对比,既活跃了气氛,有自然导入本课内容,易掌握,且记忆牢固。团队活动可以打破语言使用的局限性,拓展思维,亦可培养学生的团队意识。Step III listening 1b (5 minutes)Bob is seeing some friends for the first time in four years, what did his friends use to look like?Play the recorder and let the students listen and fill in the chart.Answers: short , glasses , tall , short hair , red , curly.听力训练让已知的内容有更深层的巩固。Step IV Pairwork 1c (5minutes)Read the instruction and conversation to the class and then ask the students to make similar conversations. Answers: quiet , outgoing , friendly , sports .2. Explain some difficult points and let the students understand the sentences with used to Did you use to You used to be short, didnt you? didnt use to.3. Practice the conversation in activity 1b详听,根据课本要求逐句听,最终完成任务。并对重点句型反复学习。Step VII Pairwork 2c (4minutes)1. Ask the students to work in pairs. Make conversations with photos about their changes by comparing past and now.2. Ask several pair to present in front of the class.不但可以运用知识点,还可以更多的了解同学情况,增进彼此了解Step VIII Consolidation Games (5minutes)1. First, the teacher plays the consolidation game with the whole class as a model. Saying “can you guess what I used to be like?” let students guess. Pay attention to use e.g. You used to be short, didnt you? Did you use to have glasses?2. Pairwork to do this game.以简单易操作的活动再次练习疑问句式和反意疑问句式,达到事半功倍的效果。Step IX Summary (4minutes)Ask one or two students to tell what they learned in this class.Answers: used to Did you use to You used to be short, didnt you? didnt use to.Translate to the class.对本节课的整体回顾Step X HomeworkMake five sentences with used to do sth.
