Unit7 Whats the highest mountain in the world?Section B (2b-2c)茶棚学区初级中学 陈芳一、教学目标:知识能力:1. 掌握本节课重点单词和短语: bamboo, research, awake, excitement, illness, adult, remain, artwork , wild, government ,prepare for, walk into,fall over,take care of,die from, cut down,or so 2. 重点句型:Adult pandas spend more than 12 hours a day eating about 10 kilos of bamboo. Scientists say there are now fewer than 2,000 pandas living in the remaining forests. Another 200 or so live in zoos or research centers in China and other countries.过程与方法:通过搜寻具体信息,培养寻读的能力。任务型学习策略。情感态度与价值观:培养学生积极参与活动的兴趣,了解国宝大熊猫,意识到保护环境和自然资源的重要性。二、教学重难点1.理解2b的课文,能理解并运用其中的重点短语或句子。2. 将比较级和数字的表达灵活地运用到文章中去。三、教具和教学手段 多媒体课件四、教学过程Step1.Free talkTalk about the video. Lead in the comparative.Step2. Revision.Ask the students to translate the phrases and sentences. And check the answers.Step3. Pair workAsk students with partners to discuss how to describe pandas, if they are tour guides. Then learn new words. And ask them read aloud.Step4.Reading guidance: scanningThis means moving your eyes quickly down the page to find specific information.(1)Scan the article to find out some words that they dont know. Then underline.(2) Reading tasks. Complete 2b and 2c.2b. Scan the article to find out what these numbers mean: 10, 12, 200, 2000The T may want to hate Ss underline all the numbers (in words and numbers) that they see in the passage. Then have Ss focus in the four numbers given in the instructions. Have Ss tell their partners what these four numbers represent. Have partners confirm this. Ensure that Ss use complete sentences to describe what the numbers mean, e.g. Adult pandas eat 10 kilos of bamboo daily.(instead of just 10 kilos of bamboo )2c .Scan the article again and write short answers to the questions.Ss might already know the answers to several of these questions by this point. To encourage them to actually scan the reading passage, have Ss underline the relevant section of the passage which answers each question.Complete these questions in groups. Step 5 Writing1. Read the article and find out some phrases on the paper, then write them down.2. Listen and fill in the blanks.Step 6 emotional educationAnimals are our friends. We must protect them. To Love animals is to love ourselves. Step7PracticeAsk students finish them quickly. Realize the importance of protecting environment and natural resources. Help students to improve their English ability and learn to use important phrases and sentences. Learn to use comparative degree of adjectives and numbers in the article.2.In this lesson we sue task-based learning strategies, using a flash story makes the students pay more attention to the class. Arouse the positivity of the students. Lead in the comparative degree of adjectives to review.3. The blackboard design isnt clear.
