Revision and Lead-inT: Before our class, lets review some words firstly. Pick up a ruler and ask: “Whats this in English?”S: Its a ruler.T: How do you spell it, please?S: R-U-L-E-R.T: Show a book to them and ask: “And whats this in English?”S: Its a book.T: Can you spell it, please?S: Yes. B-O-O-K.T: And how about this one?S: Its an eraser.T: Spell it, please.S: E-R-A-S-E-R.T: Well done. These are stationeries. And today, we are going to learn some sports things in Unit 5.II. Presentation 1a, 1b & 1c1. Present the key vocabulary.(Show a ping-pong ball on the screen.)T: Whats this in English?S: Its a ping-pong ball.(Show Yao Ming on the screen.)T: Do you know who he is?S: He is Yao Ming.T: Great. And can you guess whats in his hand?S: Its a basketball.(Play a guessing game.)T: This time, I want to play a guessing game with you. I will how you some sentences. Please guess what it is. 1. Its a ball. 2. Its black and white. 3. Its popular in Brazil.4. We can play it with our feet.S: Its a soccer ball.(Show the students other objects. Teach the new words “volleyball, tennis, tennis bat, ping-pong bat” in the same way.)When teaching these words, write them on the blackboard.After it ,read the words twice.2. Play a game to see who has the best eyes. Show the pictures more and more quickly. And ask the students to say the words when they see them.3. Listen to the 1b. Ask the students to say the sports things loudly when they hear them.4. Open the book and turn to page 25. Look at the words in 1a and match the words with the things in the picture. Check the answers5. Present the key structure.Present these questions and answers.(Point to a student who has a pencil box.)T: Do you have a pencil box?S1: Yes, I do. (Nod my head yes) T: (Ask S2) Does she have a pencil box?S2: (Help S2 answer) Yes, she does. T: Do you have a basketball?S1: No, I dont. (Shake my head no) T: (Ask S2) Does she have a basketball?S2: (Help S2 answer) No, she doesnt.Ask several students about the school things and the sports things “ Do you have a/an?” “Does she/he have a/an ?”T: Different students may have different things. And here are some other students. III. Listening 2a & 2bT: Please turn to page 26 and look at 2a. Here are four pictures and some students. Please look at the first picture. Whats her name? (Point to the girl in the middle.)S: She is Jane.(Teach the other names in the same way.)T: Now, lets listen to the 2a and number the pictures 1-4.(Play the mp3 and check the answers.)T: In these pictures, we know that there are four sports things in the conversations. And this time, I want you to listen to it again to match the pictures with the balls.(Play the mp3 and check the answers.)T: From the conversations, we know that Mike has a basketball. So does he have a basketball?S: Yes, he does.T: And Jane, she doesnt have a tennis ball. So does she have a tennis ball?S: No, she doesnt.(When listening to the mp3, write “Does she/he have a/an?” “Yes, she/he does./ No, she/he doesnt.” on the blackboard.)IV. Pair work 2cT: They have different things. So they play differently. And can you make conversations by using the sports things and your school things and the sentence patterns? Please practice with your partners.V. Role play 2d1. Ask two students to read this conversation for us. Correct the mistakes if necessary.If it is possible, read the conversation after me.2.
