Unit 6 Shopping 合肥一六八玫瑰园学校合肥一六八玫瑰园学校 潘倩潘倩 I Analysis of Teaching Materials and students This text is chosen from PEP English textbook and it focuses on shopping It presents the situation of buying shoes and introduces some phrases of shopping This theme is close to students daily life and they will be interested in it By the end of class students should be able to buy some clothes with phrases and structures in this lesson Students are in Grade 4 who have a basic English background knowledge so they can talk with each other easily and fluently to some extent At the same time the theme is about shopping so they are interested in it and they have much to talk which is beneficial to learn Teaching Objectives Knowledge Objectives By the end of the lesson students should be able to 1 understand and use the vocabulary size try on of course too just 2 use the structures to talk about shopping Can I help you Size please They re Ability Objectives By the end of the lesson students should be able to 1 Make simple dialogue with salesperson Affective Objectives 1 Students will know how to buy clothes and express the size of clothes in English Key 2 Students will be able to predict key information of the picture before they do listening exercise Teaching Difficulties How to buy clothes and express the size of clothes in English IV Teaching Methods Teaching Aids Teaching Method The Communicative Approach Total Physical Response Task based Approach Teaching Aids Pictures blackboard Teaching cards and audio Teaching Process Procedure Activities Intention Warm up Lead in 1 Greeting with students and introduce Amy to them and ask students to guess what is Amy doing listen to the song and check the answer 2 Introduce more shops in the video and ask Where can we buy some books toy shop supermarket babery candy shop book shop clothes shop shoe shop To warm up and to elicit the theme Go over the words about shop and it activates Ss prior knowledge for studying and introducing shoe shop at the same time 1 Show a shoe shop and teach shoes tell students I like purple shoes What about you To get familiar with the main shop in the dialogue and to raise their interest in the text Presentation 2 Tell students there are two kinds of people in the shop customer salesperson and make a dialogue to learn Can I help you size 3 Look at the picture of the dialogue and ask Who are they Where are they What are they doing 4 Listen and answer Ss are engaged to find more detailed information about Which size is OK for John 5 Listen and read To expand vocabulary and learn the main knowledge in real situation To get the key information from the picture and to predict before listening Encourage Ss to notice the key information about the dialogue To imitate the pronunciation and innovation Practice 1 Role play Ss work in a group of three to perform the dialogue Raise students awareness of cooperation and try to practise in situations Extension Production 1 Word bank learning Clothes words Size 2 Make a new dialogue Ss work a group of two to make a new dialogue of shopping 3 Show more size to Ss and enjoy a video about size words To help Ss to fluently practice the key words To talk in a real situation close to their daily life To broaden horizon of Students Homework 1 Listen to the recording and repeat the dialogue 2 Role play the dialogue with your friends Blackboard Design Reflection 这节课是第六单元的对话课 教学目标是在情境中学习单词和短语 size try on too just 并用 Can I help you Size please 与售货员进行简单 的对话交流 教学设计主要是通过歌曲把我们引入到这单元的主题 shopping 随之根据歌曲内容我们得知买什么东西要去什么样的店 从而引出对话的场所 shoe shop 再根据 shoe shop 的小对话理解 Can I help you These shoes are nice 等句型 最后导入新课 先对图片进行简单提问并预测 再 根据听读练习掌握对话的大意 然后角色扮演 出现的问题 1 在教学过程中 部分学生对于 try them on size 发音不好掌握 2 学生回答问题时 尤其是 完整句子 总是会缺失成分 而且对于单复数容易混淆 3 表演对话 缺少 表情神情动作 没有完全融入情景中 自我分析 1 由购物歌曲引入 学生容易接受和理解 下次教学中 可以运用到实物 Unit 6 Shopping Can I help you These shoes are nice Can I try them on They re too small They re just right 的可以利用实物 让学生亲身感受 亲身理解 2
