广西藤县2017高考英语阅读理解一轮过关题阅读理解训练 (2015长春市质量检测二)Scientists in Argentina have created the worlds first cow with two human genes that will enable it to produce humanlike milk.Genetic engineering was used to introduce the “mothers milk” genes into the animal before birth, according to the National Institute of Agribusiness Technology in Buenos Aires. As an adult the cloned cow “will produce milk that is similar to humans” in what will prove “a development of great importance for the nutrition of infants(婴儿)”, said the institute.“The cloned cow, named Rosita ISA, is the first in the world that incorporates two human genes that contain the proteins present in human milk,” said the statement. The Argentine team said the Chinese only introduced one human gene, while their research involved two, meaning the milk will more_closely_resemble that of humans.“Our goal was to raise the nutrition value of cows milk by adding two human genes, which do good to the immune system of the infants.” said Adrian Mutto, from the National University of San Martin which worked with the institute.Cristina Kirchner, President of Argentina, said that the scientific institute “makes all Argentines proud.”She also rejected that she had rejected the “honour” of having the cow named after her. “They came to tell me that the name is Cristina, but what woman would like to have a cow named after her? It appeared to me to be more proper to call it Rosita.”文章大意:这是一篇新闻报道,属记叙文体裁,介绍了阿根廷通过添加人类基因的方式培育出了“类人乳”牛。5Whats the passage mainly about?AThe importance of genetic engineering.BWays to improve “mothers milk”CA cloned cow to produce humanlike milk.DAdvanced agricultural technology in Argentina.答案:C主旨大意题。根据科技新闻报道的特点,在文章第一段就会出现文章主题句,即 Scientists in Argentina have created the worlds first cow with two human genes that will enable it to produce humanlike milk.即可得出正确结论,故选C。6Which of the following can be best replace “more closely resemble” in Paragraph 4?Ahave more varieties thanBbe more similar to Chave more nutrition thanDbe more different from答案:B词义猜测题。第四段内容介绍了中国培育了加入一个人类基因的牛可以被认为 “humanlike”,那么阿根廷加入两个,足见是“更接近人乳”了,故选B。7What can be inferred from Cristina Kirchners statements?AShe was quite satisfied with the research done by the institute.BShe considered it an honor to name the special cow.CShe felt it improper to be named after the cow.DShe refused to give a name to the cow out of selfrespect.答案:A推理判断题。女总统的话the scientific institute “makes all Argentines proud” 说明A 正确。B中说她认为给牛命名是一种荣耀,并未提及。最后一段,只要明确name和name after区别即可。be named after her 是以她的名字命名,而be named after the cow是以牛的名字命名;显然C是错误的,而D中give a name to the cow是给牛起名的意思,故D不对。 社会生活型阅读理解(一)-AIve spent over a year in India, and in those 365 plus days, Ive learned a lot about getting around Indian cities. My biggest lessons have been learned through being cheated, particularly by taxi and rickshaw (人力车) drivers, but that doesnt mean those are bad ways to travel, as long as you know what youre doing. Below are the best ways to get around the city of Delhi, India, and tips for how to keep from being the victim of scams (欺诈)Taking taxis is a great way to get around the city of Delhi and chances are, if you arrive in Delhi by plane, as soon as you make it through customs, youll be swarmed by Indian taxi drivers. At the Delhi airport, be sure to arrange for a taxi to your hotel at one of the two Delhi Traffic Police Taxi Booths. One is inside the airport, and the other is outside. The key is to make sure to go to a booth run by the police, rather than by independent taxi drivers.Rickshaws are one of my favourite ways to get around Indian cities, in part because its how the locals often travel. Autorickshaws are more common, but bicycle rickshaws are still used in Old Delhi. If you do have a chance to take a bicycle rickshaw, you should do it at least once for a unique experience that should only set you back about 15 rupees. Autorickshaw rates around Delhi range between 30 and 80 rupees, depending on the distance. If you really want to travel around Delhi like the locals, take a public bus. Indian buses become very crowded and most do not have air conditioning. They are, however, very cheap. A bus trip wont set you back any more than 15 rupees, as long as you stay within the city limits. Since Indian buses get so crowded, try to board the bus at the start of the route so you can get a seat. The train is a great way to get around within the city of Delhi. Fares are reasonable, between 6 and 22 rupees. All departure announcements are in both Hindi and English, and tokens can be purchased for between 6 and 22 rupees.1. What can we infer from the passage?AYou wont have to pay much if you travel around by bus in India.BIt will be difficult for you to get a seat if you get on the bus halfway.CA rickshaw driver only charges whatever amount you give him.DYoull have to speak English if you travel around in India.5. The 1990 census (人口普查) indicates that almost 14% of Americans speak a non-English language at home. Yet only 3% reported that they spoke English “not well” or “not at all ”. That means that slightly more than one out of 10 Americans could be considered bilingual. Besides that, many high school and college studentsand even some elementary school studentsare required to take a foreign language. Actually, a growing number of Americans are coming to appreciate the benefits of using different languages.Ethnic enclaves(少数民族聚居地) have preserved the language and culture of American immigrants. Some local residents can function quite well in their native language, without having to bother learning English. Regions such as southern Florida and the Southwest have numerous Spanish-speaking neighborhoods. In fact, Spanish speakersnumbering over 17 millionform the largest non-English linguistic group in America. But Chinese, Vietnamese, Italian, Polish and many other ethnic group add to the linguistic flavor of America. Foreign languages are so commonly used in some ethnic neighborhoods that visitors might think they are in another country!Although some Americans welcome this linguistic and cultural diversity, others have begun to fear that the English language is being threatened. Since the 1980s, the “English Only” movement has sought to promote legislation(立法)which would establish English as the “official language” and restrict the use of non-English language. However, some groups, including TESOL, the organization for Teachers of English to Speakers of Other Language, object to such “language restrictionism”. But so far, 19 states have passed “English Only” legislation, and the topic is the focus of an ongoing debate.Whether or not English is the official language of the United States, it remains the “language of wider communication”. Nearly everyone recognizes the need to develop the ability in using English in order to do well in America. Americans also recognize that English is the international language, and people with good English skills can get by in many international settings. On the other hand, in a world growing increasingly smaller, second language skills can be a great favor. They can build cross-cultural bridges and give people an edge in a variety of career field. Indeed, lack of foreign language skill can limit ones chances for advancement and keep one in a cultural dead-end street.12. Being Bilingual【参考答案】1215、AACD 社会生活型阅读理解(一)-BLife is to be enjoyed. Theres no point in giving up something you enjoy unless you get something back thats even better. When people eat more healthfully, exercise, quit smoking, and manage stress better, they find that they feel so much better that it reconstructs the reason for making these changes from fear of dying to joy of living. The latest studies show that when you exercise and eat right: YOUR BRAIN receives more blood flow and oxygen, so you become smarter, think more clearly, have more energy, and need less sleep. Two studies showed that just walking for three hours per week for only three months caused so many new neurons (神经细胞) to grow that it actually increased the size of peoples brains!YOUR FACE receives more blood flow, so your_skin_glows more and wrinkles less. You look younger and more attractive. In contrast, an unhealthy diet, chronic emotional stress and smoking reduce blood flow to your face so you age more quickly. Smoking accelerates aging because nicotine causes your arteries (动脉) to narrow down, which decreases blood flow to your face and makes it wrinkle earlier. This is why smokers look years older than they really are.YOUR GENES change. In May, a study was published in the proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences showing that changing your lifestyle changes your genes. YOUR TELOMERES (染色体端粒) get longer. Telomeres are the ends of our chromosomes (染色体) that control how long we live. As telomeres become shorter, then cells age more quickly, thus shortening your life.Besides, one of the most interesting findings in the study was that the mothers awareness of stress was more important than what was really occurring in their lives. The researchers gave the women a questionnaire and asked them to rate on a threepoint scale how stressed they felt each day, and how out of control their lives felt to them. The women who were aware that they were under heavy stress had significantly shortened and damaged telomeres compared with those who felt more relaxed. On the contrary, some of the women who felt relaxed despite raising a disabled child had more normalappearing telomeres. In other words, if you feel stressed, you are stressed; if you feel fine, you are fine.1. Which of the following are good for lengthening ones life, according to the passage? eat healthy food drink plenty of water take exercise get up early go to sleep early release ones stressA BC D2. The underlined words “your skin glows” in Paragraph 3 are closest in meaning to “_”Ayour skin becomes white as there is plenty of sunshineByour skin becomes smooth as there is much blood in itCyour skin looks pink as you are healthyDyour sk
