Unit 10 Youre supposed to shake hands.Section A (1a-2d)一、教学目标:1能够使用be supposed to do 形式来就不同国家的文化礼仪和习俗进行问答,如:A: What are you supposed to do when you meet someone for the first time?B: Youre supposed to shake hands.2能正确运用be supposed to do结构提建议,如:Youre supposed to shake hands. Youre not supposed to kiss.3通过听力和对话练习,了解不同国家的文化礼仪和习俗,如:朋友或家庭聚餐礼仪等。4能认读并能工整书写所学单词,如:custom, bow, kiss, greet等。5能模仿录音正确朗读和表演教材上的对话,并能模仿目标语的结构和语调进行初步表达(会话),如:A: Am I supposed to wear jeans? B: No, youre expected to wear a suit and tie.二、学情分析: 对于九年级的学生来说,部分学生已经有了一定的英语学习基础,掌握了一点英美国家日常生活的不同传统特点,但总体上来说还比较少。大部分学生对于各国礼仪所知甚少,因而词汇量和信息量可能会偏大,加之学生英语成绩的分化比较严重,所以要求学生能课前做好预习,借助网络和书籍,了解各国传统礼仪的特点和差异,培养自学能力;教师在预设的任务中,注意引导学生在交际中动态生成,学生有话可说,乐于合作分享。这样就有利于他们更好的运用课本知识,达到提高综合运用语言能力的目的。三、教学重难点:1. 教学重点:be supposed to的用法来源:Zxxk.Com2. 教学难点:中西方人们见面礼仪的差别。 培养学生跨文化交际意识4、 教学过程:(一)复习1.复习已学目标语和导入谈论文化礼仪和风俗的话题。教师通过与学生谈论引出应该做某事的话题。T: My friend didnt sleep well these days. What should he do?S: He should sleep early. T: You mean hes supposed to sleep early?引导学生用should或shouldnt给出建议,教师适时转换成be supposed to句型并板书:S2: He shouldnt drink tea. T: Yeah, I agree. Hes not supposed to drink too much tea. 2仿照上述对话,组织Pairwork复习活动。OK. Lets do pair work: Talk about your trouble学生双人活动,教师抽查几对学生。(二)导入新课话题。1. T: Well, I think my friend is not supposed to chat online too late. Thats why he cant sleep well at night. He has many pen pals from different countries around the world. 2. 1a读图,感受目标语言。1T: You know my friend has many pen pals in different countries. What countries are they?2教师出示一些国家的国旗,学生说出国家的名字,教师随机教读并板书国家名称。完成1a 任务,阅读感知目标语言。1教师指着其中日本的国旗问: T: What are you supposed to do when you meet for the first time in Japan?引导学生用be supposed to do 来回答。(教师随机板书)2组织小组活动,要求学生们在小组中讨论其他国家的情况。3完成1a 练习。3. 1b读图, 猜测对话情景。Look at the picture. What are they talking about? 引导学生读表,猜测将要听到的对话内容。 听辨对话,完成1b任务。Listen and finish 1b教师播放录音,引导学生听关键词,将国家与见面礼节相匹配并检测自己的判断是否正确。 视听会话的动画,并模仿跟读会话。1Look, listen and repeat.教师板书该对话的核心句型,学生跟读、朗读。2教师引导学生尝试使用目标语来会话。4. 1c针对目标语进行控制性的实践活动Lets practice the conversation.1教师与一名学生模拟1b中的人物,进行会话练习,给全班做出示范。2Please practice the conversation in pairs.要求两人一组, 采用采访式,分角色练习1c中的对话。5. 2a听前活动,读图,猜测对话大意,为听力活动做铺垫。Look at the picture. T: What are they doing? They are having an outdoor party.通过问答引出主题outdoor party,激发学生对于美国的outdoor party展开想象:T: What do you know about outdoor parties? What are people supposed to do at outdoor parties?S1: I think people are supposed to bring food to the party. S2: I think people are supposed to dress more casually.在语境中听辨对话所谈及的目标语。1Well, please listen and do 2a.引导学生根据刚才的讨论预测答案。2教师播放录音,学生完成2a3Lets check6. 2b半控制性的对话练习,熟悉、运用有关目标语言结构。1依据2c中的对话,教师与一名学生就实际情况进行互动交流,为全班做示范。2学生两人一组练习对话,教师巡视并及时给予必要的帮助。3请几组学生向全班学生展示对话。4教师通过问题:What do you learn from the conversation about the outdoor party in the USA?引导学生对听力信息进行整合并尝试运用目标语言输出。7. 2d导入话题,了解对话情景。1教师导入对话语境:John went to the welcome party for foreign students last night. He made some new friends. But something funny happened. 引出问题:What is the funny thing that happened last night?2师生进行简单的交流。试读对话,明确对话内容。1Please read the conversation and answer the question.What is the funny thing that happened last night?2Well, lets check.细读对话, 回答有关问题。1Now, lets read it again then answer the questions:How are people in Japan and France expected to greet each other? Is it polite if you dont do the same thing?2学生细读课文,找出问题的答案。3全班核对答案。4教师在核对答案的过程中,随机讲解有关知识点。跟读句子,进一步体会会话内容。L ets read 2d. listen and repeat. (课件领读,学生模仿朗读会话)分角色表演对话,规范语音语调。Now, Lets read the conversation.1两人一组结对试读,教师请两名学生展示。纠正其语音语调。2全班齐读、分角色齐读(男、女生各扮演一个角色)对话。3学生两人一组分角色朗读对话,教师则巡视全班并提供必要帮助。4请两组学生向全班示范朗读。8. 小结 总结本课所学目标语。What have you learned from this lesson?鼓励学生先自己总结,教师最后归纳。教师引导学生总结be supposed to的用法。You are supposed to shake hands. be supposed to do 应该被期望做,当句子的主语是人时,它可以用来表示劝告,建议,义务,责任等,意思是 “to be expected to do sth., or to have to do sth.”e.g. Youre supposed to ask the teacher if you want to leave the classroom. 如果你要离开教室,应该先问问老师。 We are not to supposed to play football on Sunday. 不准我们在星期日踢足球。2.
