Unit 4 Dont eat in class.Section A (1a-1c)第一课时主备人 陈平 审稿人 贺爱香 Helping others is helping ourselves.Teaching aim: 1. Knowledge objectives:1)New words :rules, arrive, late, hall, dinning hall, listen, listen to, fight, sorry 2) Skilled in the use of the target language talk about some of the rules (school rules, family rules) Dont eat in class. You must be on time. Eat in the dining hall. 2. Teaching key points:1) Certainly the imperative sentence is infinitive beginning to omit the subject 2) The negative imperative sentence is in the affirmative to add don imperative sentence before t. 3) The difference between the usage of modal verbs must and have to. 3. Teaching difficulties: To master the imperative sentence, and can understand, will say some simple imperative sentences.4.Moral objectives :Stuents can express and make some simple rules, make them know that everybody should obey the rules. Teaching procedures:Step.Preparation1.Ask the students finish some actions by using imperative sentence. Please stand up/ sit down. Close the door, please. Look at me and listen to me.Dont open your books. Dont talk. Lets begin our class.2. Write instructions on the blackboard. And ask the students to observe the characteristics of the imperative sentence. Step II. Presentation 1.Students look at the pictures in 1a and finishi it, then check the answers and read aloud. 2. Listening 1). T: Now lets listen! What rules are these students breaking? Write the numbers after names?2). Check the answers: 3). Listen again and complete the conversation.Step III. PracticePair work Students act in group of two. A: What are the rules?B: Well, we cant arrive late for class. We must be on time.Step ProductionAsk some pairs to act their conversations in front of the class.Step ProgressMake a dialogue and write it down. Homework1. Copy the new words.2. Listen again. Can Alan and Cindy do these activities? Circle can or cant above. 3. Check the answers: Step III. Practice1. Pair work 1). Suppose you are Alan and your partner is Cindy. Talk about the rules in 2a. 2). Let some students come to the front and act out the conversations. 2. Reading1). 2d Listen and answer the questions.1) What are John and Alice talking about? 2) How many rules does Alice mention?2). Read the conversation and answer the questions.3). Ss finish off the sentences and check the answers by themselves. 3. Give eight more minutes for the Ss to remember the sentences. 祈使句是表示请求、命令、建议等的句子。句子中通常不出现主语,谓语动词一律用原形。根据句子语气的强弱,句末用感叹号或句号。将下列句子翻译成英语。1. 请看这幅图画。 2. 不要在教室里跑。 3. 让我们帮助他。4. 在图书馆保持安静。 5. 上课不要迟到。Step III. Practice1.Writing 1. Look at 3a. Can you write the rules for the school library? Library Rules2. Ss discuss the pictures and make some rules. 3. Let some Ss read their rules aloud. 4. Check the answers with the class. 2.Work on 3b:1. Ss work by themselves and try to write the sentences on the workbook. 2. Ss work in pairs. Ask and answer the sentences. Step Production1. Make up five cool rules for your dream school. 2. Ss work in groups and discuss what rules are in their school.3. Write down their rules on the work. 4. Let some Ss read their rules aloud. 5. See whose school is the coolest? Step ProgressIf time is enough, do some more exercises on the screen. Homework 1. Remember the sentences in the Grammar Focus. 2. Write five rules in your family. Teaching difficulties: To understand the use of must have to/can/can t use Teaching procedures:Step.Preparation1. Greet the Ss. 2. Check the homework. Let some Ss read their home rules. 3. Do you know the meaning of these rules? Dont run inside. Dont push. Dont litter. Save electricity. Save water. Step II. Presentation 1. Show some pictures and let Ss learn the new words and expressions. 2. Students look at the pictures in1 a and finish 1 a. 3. please fill in the number a h before these rules in the box in 1 b . 4. Check the answers with the class. Step III. Practice1.Listening1). Listen and put an for things Dave cant do and a for things he has to do. 2). Play the recording for the Ss to listen and check.2.
