They are active and curious in learning. They have learnt some words of fruits like apple, banana, pear and have known the sentence pattern “Whats this?”, “Is this a/an?” and “Its ” which are helpful for using the words known to the new sentence pattern “Are these.?” and “Theyre”.Analysis of the teaching materialThe food names (tomato, potato) have already learnt in the first period and learning of the sentence patterns “What are these?”, “Are these.?” and “Theyre” can be inferred from the already learnt patterns: “Whats this?”, “Is this a/an?” and “Its ”Teaching objectivesBy the end of the class, most of Ss will be able to:Language Knowledge and Language Skills: 1. Role play the dialogue on P38.2. Use the sentence pattern “What are these?”, “Are these.?” and “Theyre”to express fluently. Learning Strategy: 3. Ss review these 5 words: tomato, potato, onion, green beans, carrot.Pave the way for the sentences-drilling exercise. Step 2: Task 1Know vegetables and fruitsShow pictures and food guessing games to let Ss guess the food name by using sentence patterns: What are these?
