Learn to pronounce ai and ay in words; 2. Learn to spell and write some simple words contain ai and ay.Teaching Difficulty:Students to spell and write some simple words contain ai and ay;Teaching Aids: PPT, word cards, animal cards, Students analysis: 1. Students already have mastered the basic pronunciation and spelling rules on lettesr.2. Students are very active and like playing games. So during class, Ill design some interesting games to activate them to participate and learn something. Teaching Procedures: Step1:Greeting.1. Teacher says “morning” to Ss and greet each other. 2. Divide the whole class into four groups and tell Ss the rules of the match in this class. Step2: Warming up and ReadingTeacher uses PPT to show a rhyme and read it once to the Ss. (I wait, I wait, I wait to paint. I paint a rainbow in a rainy day.I say, I say, I say on my way. Monday, Monday, my birthday is on Monday.)Activity1: Q&A Q1. How many words contain ai in the rhyme? Q2. How many words contain ay in the rhyme?Activity2: Lead Ss to read them. ( ai ai /ei/ /ei/ /ei/ ay ay /ei/ /ei/ /ei/).Activity3:(Group works)Use PPT to show the words contain ai and ay in the rhyme. Asking Ss to find the “location rules” of letters ai and ay in words. (In this activity, Ss will have a discussion with their partners.) Presentation: After discussion, teacher will call some volunteers to present ideas of their groups. Then teacher shows the rules in PPT. Lets Ss to read the rules together. Step3: Practice 1. Read, listen and chant (P50-1)1) Teach the method of spelling words. 2) Listen to the recording and read after it. 2. Group activity Each group picks up two different colour cards with words from box . Ss should write them on the card again, and discuss with their partners to find out how to spell them. Then two representatives of each group come to the blackboard to show their cards and try to pronounce the words. . 3: Listen, read and circle(P50-2) Listen to the recording, find out the answer and circle it. When teacher asks “who want try?” , the fastest group will get the chance to answer it. 4. Look, listen and write (P50-3) Listen to the recording and write down the words on the line. In this task, teacher will ask some Ss come to the blackboard to write down their answers.Step4: Summary 1. Review the spelling about ai and ay. 2. Watch a flash and read after it.
