Greetings and warm up Let Ss watch a video about prepositions of place to warm up. . Presentation1 Show some pictures about places in PPT, ask Ss to try to speak out the words or phrases.2 Read the new words several times.3 Show Ss a map, and describe the places in “there be” sentences together. E.g. There is a post office. 4 Ask Ss “there be” questions, let Ss try to answer.E.g. Is there a bank near here? Yes, there is./ No, there isnt. Practice Pair work 1 Give every pair a new map Ask students to ask and answer about the places in the map.E.g. Is there a bank near here? Yes, there is./ No, there isnt.2 Ask some pairs to make a report and others to find the places they are talking about.IV. Presentation1 Show some pictures in PPT about prepositions of place, ask students to review the prepositions we have learned before, and learn the new prepositions of place.e.g. The hospital is behind the pay phone.2 Exercise Ask students to fill in the blanks on PPT by themselves.3 Check answers Ask some Ss to speak out the answers, and others to check answers. . Practice Group work 1 Ask Ss to exchange the maps.2 Ask students to ask and answer about the places in the map and describe the position. Try to make complete conversations.E.g. Excuse me.
