Language goals: Learn the words and phrases about doing chores. Learn to make polite requests.2. Ability goals: Be able to talk about the topics of doing housework.Master the new words and phrases.3. Emotional goals: Know it is important to help their parents with housework.Key points:1. Phrases: do the dishes, make the bed, take out the rubbish, fold the clothes, sweep the floor, clean the living room 2. Sentences:Could you please take out the rubbish? Sure. / Sorry, I cant. I have to finish homework first.Difficult points:Make polite requestsTeaching procedures:Step 1 Lead-in1. Talk about the date with the students and introduce an important day in March: March 8th, Womens Day.2. T: What can you do for your mother on that day? After students give their answers, point out the importance of doing chores.3. T: What do you usually do at home? Review the expressions students learnt before.Step 2 Presentation 1. Show some pictures to let students know the new phrases of doing chores. 2. Add some other expressions of dong chores. 3. Teach the new words and phrases of this class.Step 3 Discuss (1a)1. T: Do you often do these chores at home? Let students discuss in pairs. (students can use often, hardly ever, never to answer) 2. Ask some students to give the answers.Step 4 Listen (1b) 1. Let students look at the main picture again, ask: Will Peter take out the rubbish? Students give their answers. 2. Students look at the chart of 1b and think about one question:Who will do the chores, Peter or his mother? 3. Play the recording for the first time and ask students to fill in the chart. Then let them listen again and correct the answers.Step 5 Pairwork (1c)1. Ask students to read the dialogue in pairs. 2. Students make up conversations by themselves. 3. Invite some pairs to present in class.Step 6 Interview 1. T: What chores do you do at home? How often do you do these things? Students work in groups of four and interview each other. 2. Choose some students to give a report. Praise the best students.Step 7 Summary 1. New expressionsdo the dishes, sweep the floor, take out the trash, make the bed, fold the clothes, clean the room2
