Thats what I would like to talk about too. As usual, our terms of payment are by conformed, irrevocable letter of credit.A: But the other suppliers can provide us with more preferential terms and products as well. We want to pay you by means of D/P at sight for this transaction.B: Im afraid that we cant accept D/P at sight. Sometimes we accept payments such as D/P or D/A, in order to facilitate the buyers financing and promote business for mutual benefit. But they are the privileges of our regular customers. A: To tell you the truth, a letter of credit would increase the cost of my import. When I open a letter of credit with a bank, I have to pay a deposit. Thatll tie up funds and increase costs.B: The product of ours is carefully designed to ensure full satisfaction to its users. The price is reasonable and the quality is excellent which leads to its popularity in the world market. The great demand of the product will not only make up your expenses on L/C, but bring you a satisfactory profit.A: To meet you half way, what do you say if 50% is by L/C and the balance by D/P?B: Since weve made concession on price, I am afraid we cant make further concession on terms of payment. You cant get a better price like ours elsewhere, can you?A: Well, it seems to me that I have to take things as they are. OK, I will make the concessions. I will pay in accordance with your terms.
