It is sunny. What was the weather like in this picture? It is rainstorm.The teacher write down the title of Unit 5 on the blackboard.and then lead students to learn the Learning goals of this class.1. Use “waswere doing”to talk about past events.Step 3 New wordsThe teacher teaches the words in 1a-1c.Step 4 Grammar1.The teacher shows students some pictures and create some situations to teache the grammar rules of “be doing”in a proper way.Then summarize the present continuous tense and past progressive tense.2.practice “was/were +doing”The teacher shows students some pictures about MH 370 and practice “was/were +doing”3.Ask some questions, for example:What were you/ they doing when MH 370 lost ?What was she/ he /it doing when MH370 lost ?4.The teacher shows students some pictures and lets students make proper sentences.Step5 Activity 1aThe teacher lets students look at the picture in page 33. and ask them some questions, such as Where were they? How do you know? What were they doing when the rainstorm came last night?Here are some reports etc.The students look carefully and finish this task. Where were the people at the time of the rainstorm?
