about Australia.Please work in pairs to discuss which questions will be answered in the passage and tick them.(After a while,teacher asks two students to give their answers by guess.)T:Do you think by,have an influence on.Teacher also writes some important verbs on the Bb.)T:Please look at the blackboard.Translate the words and phrases into Chinese and try to make a sentence with each one.(Some (Teacher writes the sentence patterns on the Bb.)Step Listening and ConsolidationT:Now lets listen to the tape.While listening,pay attention to your pronunciation.(Teacher plays the tape for students to listen.After that,teacher gives students a few minutes to read aloud the passage.Meanwhile,teacher asks students to try to remember some details.)Step DiscussionT:Now open your books and turn to Page 23.Look at Part 3.In it there is a new word “concept”.It means “a thought,idea or principle”.For example,he failed the exam because he didnt grasp the basic concepts of mathematics.Are you clear about the word?Ss:Yes.T:As we all know,in some essays,some statements indicate facts or examples that support or challenge the reading,and some statements give a definition to a term or concept used in the reading.There are some statements on the next page.Please read them and discuss to decide what kind of statement it is.And label each one accordingly.If you think a fact or an example supports the reading,please mark “s” at the same time.But if you think a fact or an example challenges the reading,mark “c”.Do you know what to do now?(Ss:Yes.)Please work in
