Warm up1. Greetings2. Do some exercises about countable noun and uncountable noun.e.g. Put these words into the appropriate column. English, tea, rice, picture, child, milk, zoo, book, man, air, river, sheep, foot, family, bread, street, apple, water, bottle, tomato Countable noun: _ Uncountable noun: _Correct their answers with the whole class. 3. Make a dialogue with an enable student like this: A: Hello, whats your name? B: Im B. A: How old are you? B: Im fourteen years old. A: Whats this? B: Its a pencil. A: Whats it made of? B: Its made of wood.Make the students work in groups to make some similar dialogues, this part is to practice the language points they have learnt.Step II. Presentation1. Show some pictures of panda to the students, ask: What is it? Do you know where it lives? What kind of life does it live?To elicit: Its a panda, it lives in the mountain, (Maybe I dont know)Say: Today we will learn something about the panda, lets see how lovely it is.2. Play the recorder, let the Ss listen, ask them to get main idea of the whole passage. Also the teacher can give them some questions about the passage to practice their listening comprehension during this part, letting the students write down some key words.e.g. Whats a panda? What does a panda look like? What kind of food does it eat? Where does it live? ect.In this part, the teacher should make sure the students can get the meaning of the passage. If necessary, the teacher can introduce some new words to the Ss.Step III. Practice1. Ask the students to finish the exercises individually, correct the answers with the whole class. (SB page 76 A)2. Group work Give a topic “My favorite Star” to the students. Let the Ss work in groups to discuss how to express their own favorite star. Ask the Ss should write a short passage about him or her on the paper. After that, the teacher ask some students to have a speech about the topic. (if possible, dont correct their mistakes in the grammar) Give them time as much as possible in order to make sure they can finish their composition. Pay attention to the use of the verbs in different tenses.Step IV Addition exercisesReading Comprehension Da Yu lived about 4,000 years age. He was a great man in history. He taught people (A) how they could control floods, and got the Yellow river back under control. Even today, people are still (B) _ for his work.
