Case Study: Using Managerial Functions to Make Decisions Zycles Company, the motorcycle producer, illustrates how a firm can use the fun

Its managers recently applied the planning function to set a goal of developing a new design for a motorcycle that will appeal to customers and can be produced at a low cost. They applied the organizing function to establish a set of tasks so that th

10、e engineering department will produce a model worked together with different technical groups, and the model will be tested by customers before the design is finalized. Zycles managers applied the leading function to ensure that the final design will not be completed until the engineering department

11、 receives feedback from the assembly-line workers on the potential problems or limitations they may encounter in producing the new model. The managers applied the controlling function to ensure that the engineers will consider all the information from other sources so that the model can be produced
