51、中国国事务都都抱有研研究兴趣趣。虽然然我们两两国地理理上相距距万里，但在日日常生活活中却非非常相近近。好莱莱坞影片片、麦当当劳快餐餐成了许许多中 国人生生活中的的内容。而中国国加工的的服装、日用品品也天天天伴随着着美国人人民。我我希望通通过今天天的交流流，能增增进在座座诸位对对中国和和中国外外交政策策的了解解，为未未来彼此此的友谊谊 与合合作锦上上添花。女士士们、先先生们，我想想首先扼扼要说一一下中国国的现状状。大家家知道，中国实实行改革革开放已已走过了了25年年。在短短短的四四分之一一个世纪纪里，中中国取得得了前所所未有的的重大进进步和发发展。 25年年前，中中国的GGDP只只有14473亿

52、亿美元，而去年年已达1140000多亿亿美元，增长近近10倍倍；255年前，中国外外贸总额额仅为2206亿亿美元，去年则则达到了了 85512亿亿美元；25年年前，中中国的贫贫困人口口有2亿亿5千万万，目前前已下降降到30000万万人左右右。毫不不夸张地地说，这这25年年是中国国历史上上最辉煌煌的一页页。之所所以能取取得如此此成就，最根本本的一条条就是我我们找到到了适合合中国国国情的发发展道路路，即具具有中国国特色的的社会主主义道路路。当然然，我们们还有很很长的路路要走，因为中中国人口口众多、包袱沉沉重，生生产力不不发达、发展不不平衡。中国国的面积积比美国国稍大，但有113亿人人口，而而且还在

53、在增长，到20040年年前后将将超过115亿，其后才才会逐渐渐下降。有如此此大的人人口基数数，无论论财力、物力 总量多多么可观观，只要要除以113亿，就成为为相当低低的人均均水平。去年中中国的GGDP总总量排名名世界第第六位，但人均均刚过110000美元，排在世世界1000位以以后。中中国东部部 与中中西部、沿海与与内地存存在巨大大的发展展差距，也是困困扰中国国的难题题。中国国政府的的近期目目标就是是要让全全体中国国人都过过上小康康生活。这需要要我们继继续作出出不懈的的努力。因此，中国政政府的第第一要务务就是发发展，不不仅是经经济发展展，而 且是全全面、平平衡、协协调发展展。注重重以人为为本，

54、统统筹城乡乡之间和和区域之之间的发发展，保保持经济济发展与与社会发发展的平平衡，实实现人与与自然和和谐共存存，实现现物质文文明、精精神文明明 和政政治文明明的共同同发展。实现现中华民民族的复复兴，是是全体中中国人的的夙愿。当前，我们正正面临千千载难逢逢的良好好发展机机遇，中中国的崛崛起不再再是遥不不可及的的梦想。当然，国际上上也有一一些人 士对此此感到担担忧与不不安。他他们认为为，从近近代历史史看，一一个大国国的崛起起，往往往会导致致国际格格局和世世界秩序序的急剧剧变动，甚至引引发战争争。我认认为，从从某种意意义上讲讲，这种种 担忧忧是可以以理解的的，但同同时也是是不必要要的。因因为：首先先，

55、中华华民族历历来尊崇崇“和为为贵”的的哲学思思想，追追寻“大大同世界界”不仅仅是简单单的千年年祖训，而且是是植根于于中华民民族血液液里的“基因”。不称称霸是我我们郑重重的承诺诺。第二二，中国国有古代代的辉煌煌与骄傲傲，更有有近代的的惨痛和和屈辱。我们对对外来侵侵略有切切肤之感感，“已已所不欲欲，勿施施与人”。这是是中国的的民意，民意不不可违。第三三，人类类已进入入21世世纪，中中国不会会，也不不可能再再重复走走“零和和”道路路。我们们唯一的的选择只只能是和和平崛起起，就是是利用世世界和平平努力发发展自己己，同时时又以自自身发展展维护世世界和平平。第四四，像中中国这样样十几亿亿人口的的大国，要发
