2、lause.The impersonal pronoun “it” can be used to talk about time,distance,weather,etc.“In this period we will focus on only part of its usages,that is,the use of “it” when the subject of a sentence is a clause,an infinitive,or the ing form and formal object.三维目标设计Knowledge and skills1To let the stud

6、 according to the above sentences.Step 2Grammar learningAsk the students to study the following sentences and try to summarize the structure and usages of“it”The personal pronoun “it” and the impersonal pronoun “it” it作为代词的用法(1)指代上文提到过的事物。This suitcase looks heavy but actually it is very light.这个手提箱

7、看上去很重,但实际上很轻。(2)指代性别不明的婴儿。My sisterinlaw gave birth to a baby and it weighed 4 kg.我嫂子生了个小孩,体重为4千克。(3)指代性别不明确的人。Who is knocking at the door?谁在敲门?It might be the milkman.可能是送牛奶的人。(4)可以表示时间、距离、自然现象、环境、情况等。It is two miles to the island from here.从这儿到那座岛两英里远。It is quite warm at the moment.现在天气很暖和。It is 5

8、 oclock now by my watch.我的手表现在是5点钟。It was very noisy at the very moment.正好那个时候很吵。(5)指代指示代词this, that或不定代词something,nothing等。What is this?这是什么?Its a kind of food.这是一种食物。Whenever she sees something that she likes, she goes and buys it.每当她看到喜欢的东西,她就会去买下来。2、“It” is used in the subject position.it用作形式主语i

9、t作形式主语时,常用于以下几个句型:(1)It takes sb.some time to do sth.某人花时间做某事。It will take you 20 minutes to get there by bus.坐公共汽车去那里花费你20分钟。(2)It beadj.to do/that.做是的。常用于此句型的形容词有:possible, necessary, important, easy, strange, natural等。Its important for us to study hard.努力学习对我们来说很重要。It is strange that she should r

10、efuse to come to the party.很奇怪,她居然拒绝来参加聚会。(3)It ben.to do/that.做是的。常用于此句型的名词有:pity, honour, shame, wonder等。It is a pity that you didnt attend the party.你没参加聚会真遗憾。It is a shame for us to have lost the game.我们输了这场比赛,真丢人。(4)It beadj./n.doing.做是的。常用于此句型的形容词或名词(词组)有:no good, no use, no pleasure, no fun,

11、useless, a waste of time等。It is no use trying again.再试一遍也没有用。Its a waste of time doing such useless things.做这样无用的事情等于浪费时间。(5)It be过去分词that.据常用于此句型的过去分词有:said, announced, believed, reported, known, hopedIt was said that a heavy snowstorm hit that area last week.据说,上周那个地区遭到一场严重的暴风雪的袭击。It is believed t

12、hat reading increases our knowledge and broadens our mind.人们认为,阅读能增加我们的知识,拓宽我们的视野。3、“It” is used in the Object position.it用作形式宾语it用作形式宾语时,常代替动词不定式(短语)或宾语从句,即常用于“主语谓语itadj./n.to do sth./that.”结构中,it偶尔替代动名词。常用于此结构的及物动词有:make, think, feel, find, consider等。I find it easy enough to get on with Kate.我发现和凯

13、特相处非常容易。He made it clear that he was not interested in that subject.他讲明了他对那门课程不感兴趣。I think it no use arguing with him.我认为和他争论是没有用的。在英语中,某些动词(短语)不能直接跟宾语从句,须先接it作形式宾语,然后再把真正的宾语置后。这类动词多表示“喜好”“厌恶”“认为”等抽象意义,如like, enjoy, prefer, appreciate, dislike, hate, take, have, owe等,它们构成“v.it when/if从句”结构;动词短语depen

14、d on(依靠),answer for(负责;担保),insist on(坚持),see to(务必,确保),take.for granted(认为理所当然)等后接that从句时,须用it作形式宾语。I would appreciate it if you could come to my birthday party.如果你能来参加我的生日聚会,我会很感激的。She hates it when you use her books.她讨厌你用她的书。Will you see to it that the luggage is brought back as soon as possible?你
