IthasbeensomeyearssincethecurriculumreformhasbeenintroducedatSichuanVocationalandTechnologyCollege.Asafront-lineyounglecturerinforeignlanguageteachingforthepastfouryears,IhaveactivelytakenpartintheimplementationprocessofthereformandthereissomeexperiencewhichIfeelitworthtosharewiththecolleaguesandothereducators.
1.Tostrengthenthecommunicationandinteractionsamongcolleges.
Therearemanydifferenttypesquestionsaroseintheprocessofcurriculumreform,thesequestionsareoftencommonamongdifferentcampusesandcolleges.Therefore,itisveryimportantforthesepartiestoexchangetheirexperienceanddiscussthesituationstheymayhavealreadyfaced,itisalsoequallyimportantandhelpfuliftheycanalsoparticipateinsomesortsofactivities,forexamples,onecampuscansendsomedelegatinglecturerstotheother,theselecturescaneithertakepartinsomeofthelecturingorsimplylearningsomeexperiencefromtheircounterparts.Wisdomofthemassesisendlessandthedialoguebetweenthesefrontlinelecturesatdifferentcampusesorcollegescandecidethefutureandoutcomeofthisreform.
2.Tostrengthenthedialoguewithparentsofthestudents.
Thisreforminvolvesovertenthousandsoffamilies,itisessentialforthecollegetomakesurethattheparentscanunderstandwhatthisreformmeanandhowtheycansupportandcontributetothesmoothimplementationofthisreform.Thisreformdosenotonlyinvolvethelecturesandcolleges,butalsotheparentsofthestudents,thisisparticularlythecaseforsomecourseswhichrequireparentstogivesomestraightforwardconsultingandtutoringoutsideofthecollege.Itisthereforeessentialforthecollegetotakesomeeffectivemeasurestokeepinlonglastingtouchwiththeparentssuchasorganizingregularshortmeetingswiththeparentsorsendingoutsomequestionerstothemforsuggestionsandfeedbacks.Inshort,tostrengthenthedialoguewithparentsishelpfulforthenewcurriculumreformtomoveupwardandonward.
3.Toemphasistheinteractionsbetweenstudentsandlecturers.
Educationcanneverbesuccessfulwithoutanequaldialoguebetweenlecturesandstudents.Itiscriticallyimportanttoshowthestudentsapathforfeedbackandsuggestionstothelecturers.Thestudentsoftenpreferademocraticandharmoniousatmosphereatlectures.Thiscanstimulatethestudents’curiosityandthirstforknowledge.Inthisbilateralinteraction,thelecturesshouldbeactivelyinvolvedinthetutorial,discussionandresearchsessionsoftheircourses,theyshouldalsoencouragethestudentstoexpresstheirviewswithnohesitationandbeconfidenttocomplementeachother’sopinions.
4.Tofigureanewtypeoflecturers―scientificresearchers
Thecurriculumreformisanurgentandveryimportantcalltothelecturesinordertofindoutanewandeffectivewaytofurtherimprovethequalityandoutcomeoflecturing.Thisreformwilldefinitelymangetocreateanewplatformforthefront-linelecturerstocreateastrongteachingandlearningatmosphereinthecollege.Itisthereforecertainthatthisreformwillmanagetoraisetheeducationtoamuchhigherlevelatthecollege.
Finally,themainthemeofthepaperistointroducesomeusefulmethodsofdevelopingthenewcurriculumreforminCollegeEnglishTeachingwhichsummarizedinmypersonalteachingexperience.Asthefront-lineyounglecturers,weshouldscientificallyorganizeourlecturingandputthereforminpracticesensibly.WithsucheffectivemethodsmentionedinthispaperwewouldstartourclassinEnglishteachingmoreeffectively.Itisthereforecertainthatthisreformwillmanagetoraisetheeducationtoamuchhigherlevelatthecollege.
