Ontheonehand,smokingisharmfulbothforsmokersthemselvesandothers.Itisreportedthateveryyearsmokingcausesmillionsofdeatharoundtheworld.Ontheotherhand,smokingpollutestheair.Justimaginethatyousitinarestaurantfullofsmoke,howcanyouenjoyyourmealthere?Besides,smokingisbadfortheelevationofacountry’simageintheworld.

Ibelieveifsmokingisbannedinallthepublicplaces,mostofuswillbreatheinmorefreshandcleanair.Andthehealthconditionofallthepeoplewillbegreatlyimproved.

HeartattackandstrokeUKstudiesshowthatsmokersintheir30sand40sarefivetimesmorelikelytohaveaheartattackthannon-smokers.Tobaccocontributestothehardeningofthearteries,whichcanthenbecomeblockedandstarvetheheartofbloodflow,causingtheattack.Often,smokerswhodevelopthiswillrequirecomplexandriskyheartbypasssurgery.Ifyousmokeforalifetime,thereisa50%chancethatyoureventualdeathwillbesmoking-related-halfofallthesedeathswillbeinmiddleage.Smokingalsoincreasestheriskofhavingastroke.LungproblemsAnotherprimaryhealthriskassociatedwithsmokingarelungcancer,whichkillsmorethan20,000peopleintheUKeveryyear.USstudieshaveshownthatmenwhosmokeincreasetheirchancesofdyingfromthediseasebymorethan22times.Womenwhosmokeincreasethisriskbynearly12times.Lungcancerisadifficultcancertotreat-longtermsurvivalratesarepoor.
