RobecoInstitutionalAssetManagement(IS8DZW1TZSQ8YPXVRC46)considersprincipaladverseimpactsofitsinvestmentdecisionsonsustainabilityfactorsaspartofitsinvestmentduediligenceprocessandprocedures.Forsustainableinvestmentsthismeansensuringthattheinvestmentsdonosignificantharmtoanyenvironmentalorsocialobjective.
ThepresentstatementistheconsolidatedstatementonprincipaladverseimpactsonsustainabilityfactorsofRobecoInstitutionalAssetManagement.Thepublicationofthisstatementonprincipaladverseimpactsonsustainabilityfactorscoincideswiththefirstreferenceperiodof1January2022to31December2022.ReportingoverthatreferenceperiodontheindicatorsforadverseimpactsofTable1,andanyrelevantindicatorsofTable2and3ofAnnexIoftheSFDRDelegatedActwilltakeplacein2023,followingthemeasurementofthefirstreferenceperiods(Q12022-Q42022).

RobecoiscommittedtocontributetothegoalsoftheParisAgreementandtoachievingnetzerocarbonemissionsby2050.Tothisend,Robecopublishedanetzeroroadmapincludinginterimcarbonreductiontargetsfor2025and2030.TheportfoliodecarbonizationtargetsarederivedfromtheP2pathwayfromtheIPCC1.5-degreescenarioof2018.TheP2pathway
iscomposedofthefollowingemissionmilestones:49%reductionofGHGemissionsin2030and-89%reductionofGHGemissionsin2050,bothrelativeto2010baseline.InitiallyconfinedtothemajorityofRobecofundsonly,thescopeofour
decarbonizationstrategywillgraduallyincreasetoincludeclientmandatesandreach100%ofAUM.Ourambitionfornetzerodependsonallsectorsofsocietyandeconomydoingtheirpart:policy,industry,investorsandconsumers.OurcommitmentismadeintheexpectationthatgovernmentswillfollowthroughontheirowncommitmentstothegoalsoftheParisAgreement.

Robecoengageswithkeyhighemittersinourinvestmentportfoliosviatheengagementtheme“AccelerationtoParis”andthe“NetZeroCarbonEmissions”theme.

Forcompaniesinhighemittingsectorsthatdonotsufficientlyaddresstheimpactofclimatechangeontheirbusinesses,
Robecowillopposetheagendaitemmostappropriateforthatissue.Tothatend,thenominationoftheaccountableboardmembertakesprecedence.Robecoalsogenerallysupportsreasonableshareholderproposalsthataskcompaniestoprepareandplanformitigatingclimatechangerisks.Thisincludesbutisnotlimitedtoresolutionsrequestingcompaniestoreviewtheirenergyefficiencyandconsiderincreasingtheuseofrenewableenergies.

andrelevanceforourfunds.Theengagementisaimedatimprovingtransparencyonconcretepoliciesandshort-andmediumtargets.Engagementshouldalsoincreaseawarenessofthistopicamongissuersandimproveinvestabilityforourclimate

andexternalconflict.Robeco’sanalysissuggeststhatadeteriorationinthisscoreshouldberegardedasawarningsignalforthefundamentalstrengthofacountryvis-à-vispeersinthesameratingcategory.Inaddition,allocationstocountrieswithalowCSRscoreshould,onafundlevel,bebalancedbyallocationstohigherscoringcountriestokeepthefund’sweightedaveragescoreattherequiredlevel.Thiswill,ceterisparibus,influencetheriskpremiumrequiredforinvestinginsovereignbondsoflowerscoringcountriesinourinvestmentprocess.
