asitseconomicbase,andsocialdifferentiationandaunified

beliefsystem,whichexistedintheLateNeolithicperiodinChina.

This5,300-year-oldcitywasfirstdiscoveredbyShiXingengin1936,andthenbecameknowntothe

worldaftermanyyearsofarchaeologicalexcavations.TheArchaeologicalRuinsofLiangzhuCityhavebeen

designatedasaNationalKeyCulturalRelicsProtectionUnit,andarethemostrepresentativeprehistoric

large-scalesettlementinEastAsia,markingamilestoneinthedevelopmentofhumancivilization.The

Liangzhuculture,asthepeakofearlyriceagricultureintheformationstageofChinesecivilization,hada

profoundimpactontheevolutionofChinesecultureforthefollowingfivethousandyears.

ThecomplexwaterconservancysystemaroundLiangzhu,alongwiththeburialsites(including
