Mr.Sieglersaidtheresearchershadevaluatedwaste-disposalpracticesincountriesaroundtheworld
andusedtheir“bestprofessionaljudgment”todeterminethelowestandhighestamountsofplasticwaste
likelytoescapeintotheenvironment.Theysettledonarangeof25percentto75percent.

EnvironmentalStudiesinHalifax,NovaScotia,saidthatanalyzingwastedatacanamounttoa“data
