1、How to teach grammar esp. for young ages,What are the goals of teaching grammar?,rules,communication,usage,exams,Agree or Disagree,Pupils need to be given detailed grammar rules if they want to learn a foreign language successfully.,2.Children do not need to learn grammar rules when they acquire the
2、ir first language, so they do not need to learn grammar.,3.If pupils get enough chance to practice using a foreign language, they do not need to learn grammar.,4.Making children understand the grammar rules should be a very important teaching objective.,5. Grammar should be taught to help children a
3、nalyze difficult structures in texts and dialogues,6. Its ok for children to make grammatical mistakes, because communication in a foreign Language without errors is something most people will never achieve.,7.Pupils in lower grades do not need to learn grammar, but when they move to upper levels, g

This kind of grammar presentation called the deductive method,Inductive method,The teacher uses the sentence structure in context without telling her students the rules. 11、ngs provide efficient content, environment and tools. Step 1: the teacher makes the student sit in a circle. Tell them a story(Goldilocks and three bears) with the help of a big story book or a projector. Make sure everybody can see it clearly. Needs to check their comprehension (OK?) and repetition
12、 if it is necessary. If there are some new words, the teacher could give an explanation. Insert some sample sentences in a narrative way ( Whos been eating my porridge?) or by asking ( Whos been eating my porridge?) Step 2: repeats the story, let the kids sing the sentences Whos been eating my porri
13、dge? Etc.,Step 3: one more time of repeating, let the students get more involve telling and acting the story. At the same time, the teacher can change the story a bit. e.g. Reorder the events of the story; add some new plots ( someones been using my computer; someones been picking my flowers). Keep
14、on practicing till they can tell the story through reading the flashcards or pictures. Step 4: assigns the task: draw their own stories, then retell the story.
