Unit4 Green WorldsListeningAccording to the tape, different kinds of fruit belong to different families.根据录音,不同的水果属于不同的家族。【点拨】belong to 属所有,属之一员(无进行时)eg. The car belongs to my uncle. 这辆车是我叔叔的。 eg. I belong to the tennis club. 我是这个网球俱乐部的会员。1) belong + 副词 应该归属为; 适合 (与表示场所的副词连用,不用进行时) eg. The book belongs on that shelf. 这本书应该放在那个书架子上。注:belong to 中的为介词,后跟宾格代词,无进行时,无被动语态。eg. This book belongs to me. (正确)This book belongs to mine.(错误)What problems did farmers have in common?【点拨】in common 表示“共同的”、“共有”、“公用”解 eg. We have many things in common. 。 我们有许多共同之处。The teachers in our group have the book s and dictionaries in common.我们组的教师共用这些书和词典。常用的短语:have sth /everything / nothing / little / much in common in common with 与共同之处eg. In common with many people, he prefers classical music to pop. 和许多人一样,他喜欢古典音乐,而不喜欢流行音乐。Reading Attempts had been made by others to classify plant species into groups, 其他人也曾经做过尝试去把植物的种类加以分类,【点拨】attempt 是名词,其主动语态为make an attempt to do sth.1) attempt + 名词eg. The prisoner attempted an escape but failed. 那犯人企图逃走,但失败了。2) attempt + to do sth.eg. They attempt to climb the high mountain. 他们试图攀登那座高山。另外还有动词词性eg. He made an attempt to learn to ski. 他尝试着学滑雪。The idea to give each species two manes was not new,给每一个物种取两个名字的想法并不是新的【点拨】Species 物种种类。单复数相同。用法同 means ,当被one / this / that / a 等单数意义的词修饰表单数意义;如被all / these / those 等复数意义的词修饰则表示复数意义:eg . When is it that ?Where is it that .? Why is it that ? How is it that ? A large amount of food has been sent to the flooded area by train. 大量的食物已经用火车运送到洪灾的地区。注意:a large amount of + 不可数名词与large amounts + of + 不可数名词作主语要注意谓语动词的使用,前者用单数动词,后者用复数动词。其用法如 quality 。另外amount to 为动词短语,意思为“总计,总共达”eg. Can you work out the maths problem ? 你能解决出那道数学题吗?2) 计算出,核算出eg. Can you work out how much money it will need ?你能计算出需要多少钱吗?3) 详细拟订(计划、方案等)eg. He worked out all the details of the plan.他详细拟订了那项计划。4) 进展,进行eg. I hope the new project will work out well .我希望新计划能顺利完成。Integrating skillsIn his youth to experiment and do whatever he liked.在他年轻的时候,去做实验和他喜欢的任何事情。【点拨】句中whatever 引导名词性从句,在句中作宾语,它还可以作主语,表语等。当引导名词性从句时不能用no matter what 替换。eg. Whatever he did was right.注意:Whatever 引起从句时通常在句中作名词成分,但有时可作定语,修饰名词,eg. She would tell him whatever news she got.不管她
